I don’t reckon api intentionally knocked the ball out though … that’s the thing. To me it looked like a last ditch effort to bring a bigger man who was in the act of scoring to the ground. Mikaele made 3 steps and was obviously going for a run. Also the fact he went on with the tackle after the ball had been popped loose says it all

The May try got taken off us because Pole ran into Drinkwater, nothing more. That was a really poor read by the Cowboys defense and if pole had a bit more awareness it would have been given

Thats my point...its entirely our fault Pole ran into Drinkwater,who wld have had no chance of preventing the try...but the rules have been that way for several years

I think it was clear that Drinkwater made the decision to tackle Pole. He wasn't sliding for May. A

There is a technical issue with the Luai no try.

So technically the call was "mikaele didn't clear the ruck" because if he had cleared the ruck, it's fair game.

But isn't the Bunker not allowed to rule on Ruck infringements?

Absolutely, but rules in the NRL are totally discretionary. Turn up the volume and you will hear the short whistle signalling to the Bunker to reinvent the rules. The deciding factor is jersey colour and ours is the wrong colour. The "correct" team won, doesn't matter if they were the better team or how we got there. NRL is unwatchable.

The NRL wants out of team towns in the finals, it means great audiences and $. It is entertainment and not a sport,

For support and $, surely they would prefer big clubs such as us, Dogs, Dragons and Broncos in the finals.

Imagine the crowd we could get if we made it.

We can all blame the refs..and other teams do ocassionally get away with same issues sometimes..
.BUT WE NEED TO LEARN THE RULES!!
Api of all ppl knows u dont get away with knocking the ball out of the dummy half's hans...there are other ways to do it
And the decoy rules,whislt at times unfair,are tranparent and consistent.We all undrstand what they are
.So we needed to run in at a tighter angle rather than target the defenders outside shoulder

Cld have won that game too,,but it showcased some of the dumb mistakes that have been plagiuing us all season

The rule needs to be tweaked, if the blocked defender has no chance of reaching the attacker then it's try time, use common sense.

Not sure I agree with that...youve really gotta run outside every potential defenders' outside shoulder to not be seen as impeeding .
It was tuly harsh,and Im in no doubt opposition teams when they see they are going to be beaten in that situation reposition themselves to fully leverage the rule to their advantage.Defender was done cold
Having said that..if it was WTs defending ..wed go straight to "try confirmed"then an ad break!!!
Am truly disappointed that Benji is not on top of this stuff,particularly when the prevailing winds are against you with the refs.
Explains a lot as to where we are..know tries are hard to get for us,but gotta make them stick

Yeah, its one of the teams biggest weaknesses so hopefully with our new centres (May & Avi) and an improving Sakura things are looking better both in attack and defensively.

When you consider how we have held our own in other parts of the game (especially the ruck) over the past two weeks, next year does have some hope.
