TEAM LIST Round 3 vs Rabbitohs

Team List
Romy andTito will be in Walker's ear. They'll annoy him out of any left edge shennanigans.
I can see at least one intercept try from a Walker floater cut out aiming for his winger and a few that will go over the sideline.

If that does occur Walker will overplay his hand, make hasty decisions and errors trying to make up for his poor pass.

The Rabbitohs are pretty hot & cold when they are behind in the scoreboard. The either panic and give up possession with unforced errors or they'll go gang busters and score 3 tries in 6 mins and spoil the oppositions day.

I hope it's the former come Saturday.🤞

We should be running our forwards at fat boy all day, give him a ton of work to do so when they attack there's not much left in the tank and he provides less impact.
Against the Rabbits you need to run them around the paddock with a lot of passing interchanges, offloads and early kicks in behind their lines when they inevitably rush up in defence, keeping Grey & his wingers in 2 minds when in their red zone.

Doueihi, if I had one criticism of his game v the Cowboys it was his long range 5th tackle kicks that were often too shallow considering how we know he can boot a footy. If he can get some clean ball and time he can hike them up almost as good as Burton. Maybe 🤔 Patty Richards should give him some kick coaching.

I dream of Wests Tigers again having a kicker like Richards again that can turn a kick off into an attacking play with the hang time he used to get.

Ihad to do some digging and used chat gpt to pull it all together but it looks like he came through the junior grades as a centre before switching to Union and then came back into KoE as a centre before shifting to the wing. So in short NRL experience is zero - but he has experience in the position overall - just not much. Detail from Chatgpt below:

🧒 Junior & Early Development (Rugby League → Rugby Union)

🏉 Junior club football

  • Played junior rugby league in Queensland (Redcliffe area)
  • Junior club: Wests Rugby / Wests Bulldogs (RU)

👉 Positions (junior phase):
  • Primarily an outside back
  • Likely mix of:
    • Centre
    • Wing
There’s no formal stat breakdown, but all evidence points to him being developed as a strike outside back rather than a spine player or forward.

🔄 Teen Years → Switch to Rugby Union (Key for Position Insight)

Australia Rugby Sevens (2017–2020)

  • Selected in Australian Sevens program

👉 Positions in Sevens:
  • Wing / edge runner
  • Occasionally roaming outside back

💡 Important insight:
Sevens players are position-fluid, but his role was:
  • Speed + power carry
  • Edge finisher
    → Reinforces wing/centre profile

🏉 Super Rugby – Melbourne Rebels (2020–2022)

  • Played limited games but listed as:
    • Centre
    • Back-row (flanker)

🔁 Return to Rugby League Pathway

🐶 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (NSW Cup → NRL)

  • NSW Cup before debut
👉 Positions:
  • Centre (NSW Cup) → explicitly noted
  • Transitioned to wing at NRL level

I know how Walker reacts because he's just like me... the older he gets the stupider he becomes.

Playing Souths at the worst times,
Fully fit with all their best players available, IMO the best left side attack in the NRL.
Walker
Fifita
Mitchell
Johnston

I will be happy to be in this game with a chance of an upset (Competitive)

I think I'm going to trust that Benji is pretty well aware of the dangers of Souths backline and has a good game plan to at least try and irritate those players...all in all it will be a definite test of this teams toughness and ability..it's going to be a long season and most teams are still settling in..all the best to our team and Benji...👍

I remember Pat’s lethal kickoffs, always a competition. Didn’t JT advise against it though?

Benji up against his mentor, who will come out on top?

Historically it’s a great edge, Souths left.

But… Walker & Johnston are getting a bit long in the tooth and Trell & Fafita can drift out of games.

No reason we can’t beat this mob if we’re on.

Souths followed by Warriors both very physical sides going to be a two very hard weeks on the road. Wet track at Gosford probably will not help because if it becomes a arm wrestle I think it would suit Souths.

Will certainly give us an idea how we are progressing. I think Souths by at least 10 but Souths are pretty inconsistent so it could easy go the other way.

warriors forwards could give us a hiding over there
not confident against warriors
I am confident a wet track our forwards can get over souths and give luai space along with AD long kicking
think we win by 10

Gday R H ,think it was you? that mentioned Seyfarth doesn't have a game day sponsor and inquired about the $s it would take to sponsor a player .
Did you get any feedback.
ps ,cant find the thread it was spoken about

Following reports from ESPN earlier in the week that Sunia Turuva had been training at centre, Benji Marshall has confirmed the star outside back will in fact line up there, despite being named on the wing.
How would that work:

2 Skelton?
3 Makasini
1 Bula
4 Turuva
5 Laulili

I know Maka and May are meant to be left centers, unsure how much they care about that. I wouldn't have thought players care a lot but looking at Xerri, I kinda wonder. (Ofcourse the real reason is the Dogs have decided to punt him and he has given up).

Code sports reported that the only reason Benji named Turuva on the wing was so that he could keep the same jersey number for the entire season.... its a bit of a strange one, but i also get it.
