I am not doomsdaying. I’m one of the very few on here that thinks we should be 0 and 6.
I want the only halfback in our club to play 7

We should not have dropped a game

One thing to beat ourselves compared to being completely outplayed. We are going to lose games but that loss is very different to the types of losses in previous meetings. Got to ice those games if we are to be contenders.

How is it gonna change? Luai getting dropped? Even to the bench it won’t happen.

It can change by doing exactly what Benji did today. AD to Herbert's centre spot. Simple.

We have lost 2 games where we had enough ball to win 10 games. Its easy to say Luai is the factor there, but thats not the case. Its all about having a genuine 7 that creates space to allow us to put our shape on and strip the opposition and Luai looks immediately better when Latu comes on. Luai will go great with Madden at 7 and Latu at lock off the nech. The world is getting caught up in Adam Doueihi doing some fantastic indivual things and applauding him as a great 7. All the while all his team mates have no clue what line to run off the back of him because he cant ball play for his life. He props and jinks and take all momentum out of our attack. He is a runner and a runner only. When he runs he is great. He does zero for cohesion, zero for fluently, zero for creating space for outside men.

Why is no one talking about the Willison held tackle. It was a disgrace

It was the same thing that happened in the Parra game when Williams got up to play on
and Api knocked it out. That was also ruled as play on. At least the refs are consistent on that!!!

I think we will see a similar lineup to what Benji ended the game with both Herbert out and maka gone just so he can get confidence back in cup

Couple of things I’m thinking ,…

There is no way they will leave Luai out of the team …So AD will need to move to accomodate Jock …

The ball luai sent to Samuela , he’s the only one in the team who not only sees it , executes it , but deceptively puts it where it needs to be , softly into the chest .
I’m telling people right now a ball like that in the chest but soft and easy to grab whilst running at speed , is beyond hard to do.
Just in comparison to our former half is who is 32 and still can’t do it .
Luai is a gun . A madden/ ad pairing would have got lapped tonight .

Lucky in the sense that they had Reynolds who's been in this postion countless times and knows how to ice games. Broncos have Hunt instead of Reynolds and we probably win.

Why? Hunt is highly experienced and clutch as well.
With all our possession and field position and leg ups from the Broncs, we should have won comfortably.

Yeah we really lost the game in the first half. Dominated possession but just couldn't score points. That try before half time killed us.

Gosh I was really hoping we'd smash Reynolds and he'd go off injured. Credit to Brisbane they were decimated with injuries and still played great.

It’s a frustrating loss sure …but half the teams in the comp have had 50 put on them this year …which type of loss would you “prefer”?

Great effort. Adam Reynolds was the difference. He’s a God tier halfback. Few players in history land that kick to get back in the game and also take the field goal with 9 mins left.

Our playing style works. Lack of big game experience from our wingers showed tonight. Bula was brilliant until he got hurt. Don’t Sh1t the bed because the premiers are good at reading shape. It’s an elite side that knows how to read back line player better than our younger players can execute (for now. )

Real challenge is to back it up at LO. Short turnaround this week. Again it’s not how many we win but how quick we flush the defeat and prevent long losing streaks.

AD is a great runner ..but not the best passer and sometimes he doesn’t pass it at all when he should …

I think this right. Luai is Benji's biggest supporter and is driving standards. Benji is not going to drop Luai. Everything points to the same halves combo next week.

I was more thinking Luai on the bench and back to Douehi/ Madden as halves combination. Young Fainu is just being given token minutes coz they don’t know exactly what to do with him. And neither do I !
If Bula shoulder is gone for Thursday then maybe Douehi to FB ?
And Makasini to left right out, some NSW Cup time needed for him. Reminds me a lot of Tommy Talau !

I think so, jock took Herbert off and ad was defending at centre, but he seemed to drift infield like a third half so Benji may have him roam

Not really a minor thing when they lose it either because it encourages the other team to try and get away with more foul play …( see the Luai strip)

I think they’d have been entitled to one more play. But yeah, hardly seemed worth it.

TDM is definitely improving as the season goes on. Hope he continues this form and is in the 3 2 1 discussions against canberra. It will be a test against their pack but I think we can match them. Hopefully Bula is ok.
