LIVE GAME Round 7 versus Brisbane

Live Game Discussion
They had Haas, Walsh , hunt, carrigan, two hookers, lost their fullback during the game… and we had like 70% of the possession at one stage with somethng like 30 tackles in their 20m, and we scored once… lol

AD and Luai need an organizing half. Heck the team does.

It’s not fair to Api and the forwards who were belting players any busting their ass.

We were terrible.

Yes we only lost by 1, but if we’re genuinely a top 8 team we should’ve put 40 on the broncos under those circumstances
Complete over-reaction. Not "terrible" by any measurement.

Firstly Broncos didn't loose their FB they lost a prop.

Secondly, Broncos have only had "40 put on them" once since the start of season 2025. They aren't that kind of defensive unit and it's not based on Walsh and Carrigan being there.

Thirdly, Broncos are 17W 5L their last 22 matches, including the premiership. Their last 5 matches are 4W 1L. A top form team.

Unfortunately I see that some fans have a very superficial mindset, that any team missing a few key players is "there to be rolled" , even if they have a deep roster and class across the park.

Same fans don't even seem to consider Tigers as a prime recent example, even when we lost our key 5/8th we went on a 3-match winning streak because the Team is in good form.

We scored 3, got super close to a few more; 4 tries might have been a fair return on possession/position. But instead through errors and some inexperience, Broncos got those extra points (not really deserved) and that was the difference.

If you look at RL Eye Test's analysis (I posted in another thread) his determination was Tigers earned roughly 18 points based on field position (which we slightly beat) but Broncos were ~12 points. On his analysis therefore, Broncos scored more points than we should have allowed. But we didn't defend terribly, which tells us the difference, by one analysis, was more due to costly errors.

By this site’s expected points model (ExTP, full explainer here), the Tigers field position for the game was worth 17.44 points, compared to just 11.9 for the Broncos. You can see from the chart just when they generated it as well, mostly through two significant stretches in the early periods of the game.

I don't know what it means for a referee to cost a close game, because there will always be other factors. However, there were a couple of atrocious calls that led directly to points. Willison clearly grassed with Douehi standing over him and touching him then offloads. Dummy half takes 3 steps and is 2m wide of the ruck and is absolutely fair game. At that point we had been dominating field position. It was ilan incredibly impactful incorrect decision.
Agree but we did get 2 crucial forward pass calls which IMO were not super blatant forward passes.

Other comment Andrew Voss is so biased against tigers
Questioned Warriors sin bin vs Tigers like he doesn't know the rules
Constantly deriding tigers with so many years since won 4 in a row which he mentioned 10 times I counted on replay .
He constantly talked up poor struggling Broncos and Tigers excessive fan base making it a "cauldron " for poor Bronx
Looks for reason why Tigers trys might be disallowed with no such scrutiny on other team .
He tries to sound impartial but in Tigers games he fails at this .
He annoys the sh* t out of me !
I actually find him rather pro-Tigers, considering how bad we've been the past 10 years.

He used to live near LO, said he has a huge soft spot for Tigers footy at LO.

There was when Luai was binned last year
Supposedly 3 in a set auto bin
Don’t think it’s been activated since that game
Yeah wasn't it Gerard Sutton that said "3 repeat sets is an auto sin bin"?

Reminds me always how Bryce Gibbs got 3 weeks for accidentally sliding into Luke Burt whilst scoring, and nobody has ever been suspended for it since.

The ref on the weekend seriously . Im
Not ref bashing because I thought he was good , but how all of a sudden as soon as Reynolds whinges they don’t give away 6 agains , an we suddenly do ? I mean that’s a crock of shit IMO. Nor is it not a crock of shit that they were the only ones copping it . It’s like the spend time hyper fixating on one team , then change tactics and hyper fixate on the other. .
Situation normal, refs gotta level up the 6 agains and/or penalties to make things look fair. 🤣

I like what the "Claws Out" podcast had to say about our team at this stage of the season. Young Rob says rightly so we have been the most consistent team in the comp, apart from Saints who are consistently bad. I agree some on here were way to tough on them.

On a side note.

They should NEVER have got that try against them where where the Bronco had Api's hands on him (around his legs) & the ball HAD touched the ground.

He made 7 tackle breaks and 2 line breaks FYI last week, equal first of any player on the field for either stat.

I agree I'd like more go-forward in theory but he also made 236m.

>200m, 7 TB, 2 LB, 3 offloads, 34 tackles, 1 missed, 1 error: that's a pretty massive game from a prop. Held up once over the line from a solo run. Really we should have done more with the Red-zone attack.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy and he is a massive contributor to our performance. I just think he needs to tone that jumping around like a half thing back to not negatively impact our attack

lol.

I think what he's trying to say is the orange is our home and the white is our away yet we've played in our away jersey at both home games at Campbelltown. With a bit of observation and critical thinking you could easily come to the conclusion that it's a HBG decision going off their blowup about Richardson making the orange our home jersey. It should be simple, we play in our home jersey at home and our away jersey away. If there happens to be a colour conflict which there hasn't been at either game, the away team plays in their home jersey that doesn't conflict with ours.
Thanks..
Im quite aware of what hes saying.

What im saying is there is no hard fast rule and hasnt been ever i think.

Say for example.we had a mainly black away/alternate like weve had often in the past...and say we played the broncs ar Suncorp and they used their black jumper they used the other night...wed be.forced to.change to.avood a colour clash

I dunno why people are so hung up on this topic
