LIVE GAME Round 8 vs. Sea Eagles

Live Game Discussion
Bateman can't escape some criticism. Lost the ball at a critical time that allowed Manly to get back into the game. Talau forced a six again with a great kick chase/ tackle which we failed to capitalize on - not a lazy play. You can pick and choose plenty of moments where players could have done better, and or made errors that impacted the outcome. Klemmers challenge was dumb as, the defensive lapse for Uko's try.
The only difference in the end was goal kicking and penalties. We had plenty of opportunity to win and just couldn't get it done.
Bateman had his head down the whole time which has not been the case in his previous performances with us. Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come.

Bateman knocking the ball dead another example. Brooksy is not a top player but he’s got plenty of mates who let him down too.

Did you see that ? Beautiful little kick by the forum favorite. It was the 5th tackle right in the attacking zone as well wasn't it.

We had our chances in that game. Bateman missing that put down, Tupou dropping that bomb and Brooks not collecting the IP pass were moments that turned the game against us. It's what sucks. We are close but we just aren't a decent first grade team atm.

I don't know what we can do this season either. If everyone fires we will win games but we just don't have that in us atm.

Maybe the half can do some of these good things more regularly?

I disagree that certain errors Batemans or whoever cost us the game
Manly had more errors and more missed tackles and way less run meters
We had 58% of ball 8 more completed sets and majority of the game played down their end
What lost the game was our inability to score points with so much opportunity
Coupled with Manly going straight thru our leftside defence for their first 2 tries
If they pick the same leftside exactly then Sheens I don't think you watch the games closely enough

“I don't know what we can do this season either.”
Well while you and Shenji might be struggling for ideas, watching our season implode, the rest of us are pretty sure a new 7 is the answer.

I still think some of our keyboard warriors don't watch the games which is ok each to his own on that .However that doesn't stop them from having strong opinions on who played well and who should be picked next game
Examples .Saying Stephano was our worst when clearly he was nearly our best .He had one knock on but was busting their line and was a handful for the Manly defence
Automatically picking Kepoa at left center despite defensive issues .
Brooks was no where near our worst on field but the fact remains that he is the maim playmaker and our attack sucks
He is 196 game veteran who can't win games !

It's the difference between the geniuses and the riff-raff.

Thanks TF. Just rewatched the game. Best game we have played. No one can be singled out for that loss. The Saab try was a dagger and can’t blame Tupou.

Thought the Tigers played well today. Sat out in the rain in Campbelltown, was their best game this year so far. Bula played well and the forwards were excellent. Brooks unfortunately just isn’t the player we need to finish a game off. Dane Laurie played well in reserve grade . Keep it up boys, the crowd today at Campbelltown really got into the game too!
It was a good atmosphere at Campbo, rain and all.
Agree with your assessment.

Was driving back from Armidale on Sunday arvo...listening to the Manly game with my eldest on the radio and we were cheering and hollering all the way until......
After the game ended I asked my boy if he was alright. He had tears in his eyes and yelled "$$$$ing hell"...
Breaks your heart.....but it will get better
