LIVE GAME Round 9 vs Dragons

Live Game Discussion
Another 4 weeks I reckon. After the bye I suspect.
Shit that’s too long! In any case I hope we stick with Staines in the team, been wondering where he’s been. I think he will lift a few gears with the extra Penrith boys in the team. I can’t believe though that Benji had Faataape in front of him to replace To’a, thank God he wasn’t available!

We hit the lottery tonight. That 12 point turnaround before half time is the luckiest shit you will ever see. You won't see that happen again for the next 50 years.
In years past that type of thing always went against us. Dare I say our fortunes are changing?

I’d say the reason TDS didn’t come on in the first half is due to the fact we had burned an interchange swapping Naden for Bird, with Bula having signs of a damaged ankle too. If Bula didn’t come good and needed to be swapped that would have been two of our interchanges on backs in the first 40, as well as the necessary middle rotations. Benji being frugal with the bench in this game was the right choice.

Ideally we have Toa and Skelton back and we find an edge forward somewhere. We move Seyfarth back to the bench instead of Bird. Staines is our back up winger. Naden plays the remainder of this season in KOE.
Bench use doesn’t always go to plan. I feel like we should be utilising our bench differently than we are, but Benji would have reasons for his selections I am sure.

He’s definitely reluctant to take Api off, maybe doesn’t quite trust TDS yet defensively. Also there were a stack of tries so lots of mini rests in the run of play.

It could well be that Api steadies the ship when we’re on the back foot. Leadership and team management on the field are parts of our game that have been lacking in the last few seasons. Benji might feel that swapping out Api for TDS at those vulnerable times is not best for the team.

Well I love winning games that we would normally lose. It's a very even comp and our team consistently rises to the challenge.
Melbourne may bring us down to earth but I am going to continue to enjoy these wins.

Live Takeaways from the Game:

Best from Lulia – Outstanding off-the-ball work. His role in setting up that last try—dragging Bula and Galvin into a short-side block play—was sharp footy IQ.

Staines stood up – Easily his best outing in a Tigers jersey. Busy, direct, and reliable.

Naden off the mark – Sloppy reads and poor execution. Not his night.

Biggest red flag – Full-time team huddle, everyone there... except Galvin. Speaks volumes.

I'd like to see that galvin, not in the huddle footage before i pass comment, about his ongoing employment with the club. The kid has been spoon-fed by Benji into 1st grade and obviously doesn't like the taste of silver cutlery

well if galvin can't fit in with the bro cuzzies n the rest here he really won't fell like he fits in anywhere until he does or he matures and is comfortable in his skin that he just doesn't. Can't put an old head on young shoulders
