ROUND THREE BLOCKBUSTER SET TO ROCK SFS

It is the blockbuster match everyone is talking about and come this Friday night, the only place to be is at the Sydney Football Stadium when the Wests Tigers clash with the Parramatta Eels in round three of the Telstra Premiership.
A lot of the hype surrounding the match dates back to the classic round 24 contest last season when the Eels snuck home against the Wests Tigers at the same venue on the back of some Jarryd Hayne individual brilliance in front of more than 30,000 fans. Wests Tigers' own wizard Benji Marshall was also on song that night.
The loss all but ended the Wests Tigers season while history now shows the Eels enjoyed a golden run to the grand final before being beaten by a top class Melbourne Storm outfit.
To many Wests Tigers people, from players, officials and members, it was a hard pill to swallow knowing that the Eels’ charge to the finals could have been theirs.
The two fierce rivals will go head to head this Friday night again. The Eels are on a high after their stunning come from behind win over Manly last Sunday – something Wests Tigers also did on a Monday night in round one. The victory will ensure the Eels army of supporters will be out in force, also knowing that their team has dominated over the Wests Tigers in recent seasons.
Wests Tigers will be looking to redeem themselves after a poor showing in the round two loss to the Sydney Roosters at the SFS last Sunday. Leading 12-0 early, Wests Tigers collapsed – partially due to the hot conditions – as the Roosters dominated the game.
It was a performance Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens hopes he won’t see again this season from his men, who will no doubt be fired up against their bitter rivals in what officials are hoping will be another bumper crowd.
Kick-off at the Sydney Football Stadium is 7.30pm. The Toyota Cup match starts at 5.20pm.
