Rounds 1,2 and 3 at the SFS. Good or Bad?

I think that we have an advantage over the other 15 teams in the first few rounds.
We play the 1st 3 games at the same ground which will bring a familiarity for the players with ground size (kicking) and atmosphere (fans) plus the added bonus of not having to travel for any extended road trips.

If us as fans can create an electric atmosphere in round 1 and the boys can dig deep and get the season opener then we would go into the games vs the chooks and eels with momentum.

Momentum you say? Only after one round?

Yes! The players will feel comfortable in knowing that they did it the week before at same ground with great support from the fans and they will believe they can do it again. We must play our part as fans in starting the season with a bang! Get out there and cheer the house down. The louder we are, the harder they play.

My Predictor: We win round 1, We win the First 3!

What do you think???

I hope you are right. Although I would much prefer it if the first 3 games were at Leichhardt. Atmosphere plus!!

I would love that too  , but consider this:
SFS Round 1,Suncorp Round 2 then down to Olympic Park Round 3.
That would be the start from hell.

Take the 3 SFS games and run…..............

lol Love that positive spin on it you have haha. Silver lining.

Round 2 is an away game isn't it?

If so it would be a coup if we could convince the Goosters to transfer it to Leichhardt no doubt

I think the more home games at the SFS the WT lose, the sooner WT can take their home matches back to LO and CS…

Well you just keep on death riding the club you supposedly support then. The rest of us will get behind the team if thats ok.

Yep and the quicker that we become less financial and slip into the abyss like many before…As much as we would all love to have home games split 50/50 between LO and CSS it is not viable so why not support the moves the club makes to ensure we are still going to have a team to support for years to come!!

I think 3 in a row at SFS is a good thing and I hope the boys rip in!! Can't wait for the season to start!!

We should move to Bluetongue stadium, free parking, better cheaper food, a great ground, a good run up there n back..you know it makes sense

I actually love playing at the SFS.

We seem to get good crowds there too…......Im expecting over 30k against Manly, which we could never get at our traditionals.

Hmmm you could be onto something…

'09...SFS 5 wins from 7 (counting Rorters away game)...SCG 0 from 1...L.O. 2 from 3....CSS. 2 from 3....

Bluetoung All time....undefeated...3 from 3.....

I agree totally with you. It was my first time there and was impressed with how easy it is for people to get there, and how cheap everything was. A good ground to watch footy at also.

Bluetongue is a perfect example of a proper footy ground. Close to the action. Easy access in and out of the ground. Ample parking. Close to the train station, 5-10min walk. Close to other facilities such as local pubs & the leagues club. Surrounded by small local streets so the police are able to close them off so traffic moves freely - they do this in Canberra too which makes getting out a hell of a lot easier. The only thing theyre missing is a team!

There's one thing Leichhardt is missing though. A train station/public transport. The Metro wouldve been great for LO but has since been scrapped. You think of the Sydney grounds, and most are close to train stations … SFS, ANZ, Parramatta, Kogarah, Campbelltown, Penrith.

Back on topic. I think the run of 3 SFS games in a row will be very beneficial to let the team lay a foundation. However they then run the risk of getting unsettled by two consecutive, tough road trips. Rd 4 in Canberra and Rd 5 in Townsville then back to the SFS in Rd 6\. Hopefully by then the combinations are working well and it wont matter!

its a good thing….2 of em are home games, so its good as a season ticket holder to all home games, having the crap home games done n dusted so we can focus on the leichaardt n ctown games instead....driving from penrith to the ROOSTERS home stadium is horrid...

I just looked at the draw for the first time and noticed a couple of unusual things for the Tigers:

We play both of our games against the Roosters and Bulldogs during the first 13 rounds (Roosters 2, 8, Bulldogs 6, 13).

Our byes are in round 9 and 14, meaning that if any of our guys play Origin they'll be unavailable in rounds 11 and 17.

The first three will all seem like home games as we can outnumber roosters fans 2:1 if we turn up in numbers.
Biggest concern is our first 3 games are within 12 days - lets just hope the weather is kind and not too hot or we could be pretty flat come para in round 3.
Best thing about having a lot of early games at the SFS is that we play all our home games in the run up to finals at Campbelltown and Leichhardt. Even better still is that Manly has chosen to play us at Bluetongue in round 20… hahahaha

it makes sense that it would be better for us to finish our games at LO and Campbelltown. Get the SFS over and done with. But i dont ming SFS, good bbq ribs with beer and all that.
