Rowdy

I have said it all before. It is an indicator how poorly you are going when a side focuses their attack on your edge.

Something needs to change

Exactly, it's like at every opposition teams video session they would have highlighted this and just run at his side for easy points.

Alot of people have suggested Lawrence should be converted to a backrower like Luke Lewis.

At 24 years old and never played in the forwards is it a fessible, and if so should have been sent to State Cup to develop these skills plus bulk up to play NRL as a forward.

Luke Lewis is a freak of a player and been a great winger and now second rower.

Given Lawrences injuries and the talent in the backrow coming through would he be wasting his time.

We all love Lawrence but it feels he will join TT and Dwyer as a player where injury crued his career. Imagine these 3 players injury free in the current side. if Dwyer did not get injured Blair might never have been bought for overs.

Is there a huge difference between the type of game Lawrence plays now compared to a wide running backrower? Its not a quantum leap between positions, but overall it might suit him more to move into the forwards.

Potter has to go the hard way and give him a spell in State Cup to work on his game. I know he has had injuries and 1 particularly bad one, but I think his problems are more to do with attitude. Lets face it he knows he has been the 1st centre picked for years now and I wonder if he has gotten into a comfort zone.

I congradulate him on his offield efforts in regards to his business/s (?), but I also wonder if this is too much for a young proffessional footballer who maybe needs a to take a back seat and concentrate wholly on his football. Its all a bit of specualtion but he has me wondering.

Unfortunately his defence is far from acceptable - in nearly every game this season a try was scored because of his ineffective tackle or lack of lateral movement :frowning:
His attack is also a way below his standard.
IMHO, T Simona would be better option ATM.

Retire? how bloody fickle can you be?

The guy is lucky he isn't in a wheelchair. He should be given a shot in the forwards and a chance to develop into a Luke Lewis type player before being given up on and told to retire by a couple small minded individuals

I honestly don't know if it is his hip injury that's the problem??
Didn't he come back from it and have a great game against the Dragons? Made a massive break or something….
He's been bad for the last 18 months!! I had a feeling there was a period betwween the injury and his poor form where he was going quite well.
He honestly looks lost, It's not injury based at all... He is making poor decisions, Often has me wondering how he actually gets to where he is, As to where he's supposed to be.
He was leaving Tuqiri Stranded, -moving in instead of sliding in D...
Now he's doing the same to Teddy.
More often than not, Not only does he not slide... But he launches out of the line, Misses the attack all together and leaves a gaping hole in the D.
I honestly can't believe with all the video etc... Nobody pulls him aside and says...
Chris.... Don't do that!!
And this is why.....
I honestly believe it's not the injury, It looks like he has forgotten how to play the game!!
He was an Origin quality centre once...
Players of that calibre are always players of that calibre (Until a certain age etc of course)
But I couldn't in good conscience accept any rep jumper if I were him....

Been wondering that myself. It was just in the paper the other day that he has started another business, and is studying as well !!!

Can't believe he is still only 24, its like he is on a mission to prove he is not the stereo typical footballer!!

I think everybody wants to see him go well on the field, such a nice guy.

Not giving up on him

With all the high quality second row talent we have coming through ,does Lawrence deserve to hold someone back or even force them to another club

Santi ,Lovett ,Sirro and even Vela if he can find his old form deserve a chance before we try Lawrence as a second rower

Rowdy isn't even dinting the line anymore ,doesn't get back and hit the ball hard He might be one of the nicest blokes ,but sometimes nice guys finish last

Unfortunately Mick Potter seems to be a nice guy as well.

To put his form down to attitude is way off the mark. It would be killing the guy to be performing so poorly. I am sure some of his defensive reads are to do with lack of confidence and communication with his outside man.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt. Hang with him, the guy is a class act.

People are blaming Lawrences outside men for his defensive problems. He is squeezing in and leaving his opposite centre in a 2 on 1 against our winger.
If anything he is having problems without Ellis there and has little confidence in his inside men causing him to rush the inside. Every time an opposition spread the ball to create a 2nd man play on his side, he is squeezing in instead of having faith in his inside forwards and marking up on his opposite number.
I realise I'm an arm chair critic and have no idea of Potters defensive training etc… but bloody hell I can't stand when centres and wingers let their opposite numbers get outside them.

Lol if he scored 10 tries in his next 5 games i guarantee you'd be the first one to crawl back up his arse saying you knew he'd always return to form. Fickle people are like that

Well based on whats been happening so far, i'd drop him to nsw cup and promote simona who has had reasonably successful stints in FG and although I don't remember seeing his form in 2011 I have seen it this year and it's pretty good. He can learn how to play in the back row in NSW cup. If he did score 10 tries in 5 games I would admit that i was wrong but I cant see it happening right now. Its been 18months.

He could easily work his way back into FG by the end of the season!
