There's already a Halatau thread, I just want to give a wrap to Lawrence, thought has was one of the few offensive threats tonight.

Some sharp runs including a nice one where he palmed off a few opposition. Great strength to take Aubusson over the side line. Also the try that was criminally not awarded.

Yes I thought his game tonight was better than most I've seen this year particularly running the ball and he almost scored.

In a cruel twist of fate…he was my MOTM...

Still think the backrow could be his place moving forward...

He showed enough tonight for me to have high hopes he can make a real success of the back row. Since when can he take a high ball? Since when can he palm off three players in one run? That really was one of his best performances for a couple of years. Of course having said that, as a centre he offered very little threat and his days there are well past.

Second best centre on the field by far. His defence was immense and had a few strong runs too.
Having Lawrence and Akauola on one side with Kev and Sue on the other would give a lot more protection to our halves.

But back on topic, Chris gets my 3 points tonight.

Only saw the second half, and yeah he looked ok. Much better than every other game he's played for a long time. Can't believe his no try was judged so. Absolute rubbish decision. Just before that fending off of 3 players he did his obligatory run out of the defensive line and miss badly with the roosters nearly scoring. Why does he always do that???

He had a great game on a day we were rubbish.

Him and Halatau were our best.

Both should start next week.

Hopefully Nofa is ready to go next weekend for Hoeter who isnt quite ready yet!

Its not fair on the guy that the club has no other options to play centre. At a decent club he would be in the back row already and there would be no issue with him.

Did you see his hit on JWH??? Got absolutely smashed!

And JWH acknowledged it too. But…..is it enough to keep him in the run-on squad? Don't think so.

So who replaces him,Simona is out for another 3 weeks,I thought he showed some real fight when others around him were so far outclassed he could have just gave up.

This is all 100% spot on. Lawrence was our 2nd best player last night. Halatau was our best. It is pretty much impossible to pick a 3rd.

Sad state of affairs when our two finest are both well past their best football.

Lawrence was indeed one of our best and that in itself is pretty telling…

He needs to show that sort of energy every week, not just once in a while. He is such a placid bloke but he plays so much better when there's some fire in his belly.

Don't wait till you get ripped off on a fair try before getting fired up, Chris!

I wasn't that fussed on his game. Still no threat with the ball and when he played the ball he looked like he winced each time he lifted his leg, like it was hurting his hip flexor or something. Defensively he had a couple of good shots, he's always been pretty solid with his front on defence, but if you're going to play in the backs you need to be dangerous with the ball.

Is backrow and option? Maybe, I think he hits the line harder than Lovett, but he's not going to break the line either.

I must have been watching a different game….he was swatting defenders away when no one was goin anywhere and pulled of some big hits.
