The thing I got most out of the interview was..when it comes down to it every team has trained hard in the pre season and got a chance..the difference will mostly be..which TEAM of players has the greater desire to win . In other word..it's about attitude..and with us it's specifically about attitude in defence

Roycie always played the game with no BS either. He must of had a great attitude and commitment because he was never even close to being a naturally gifted player (hell, even his running style looked like he was stumbling after a cab with 20 schooners under his belt) but yet he played the game at the highest level. That is to be respected .
IMO Royce will probably relish the fact that Sheens is no longer with the club as much as anyone, to me he always just seemed to be Sheens' understudy and bridesmaid. Now he can probably be more of his own man as far as his ideas, input etc goes.
People said about Cooper Cronk he is not a natural talent, but he workls very hard to be at that level. That what Melbourne are great at, turning average players in to good to great players. Hopefully Royce's no bullshit attitude hit home with these guys. One thing they need to man up on is the defence, they need to work real hard on this, thats how you win these games.
Is Royce our only defensive coach? Surely he would have a team of blokes as his offsiders, I hope they get the players to respond and we can get back to the solid defence that we had circa '10 and '11.
Royce should have been shown the door with sheens have met him several times , and the bloke is very arrogant, i can see him back stabbing potter all the way.
That surprises me bp, I would have thought Royce was an everyday kinda bloke but I suppose winning a premiership might turn you into a dickhead for life…. people that have met certain players might have their own thoughts????
