Rumblings im hearing ft galloway

I'll be interested to see how Gavet goes when he's finally on the field. Similar build to Thompson, but hopefully more effective with a higher workrate. We really need more out of our backrowers and hopefully this bloke is a step in the right direction.

Jack Wighton would be an excellent signing if we could get him, but I don't like our chances. I'm hoping we don't lose Galloway, we're short on experienced props.

People keep saying Galloway misses too many games but in reality he has played most games the last few years
2007 - 17
2008- 18
2009- 15
2010 - 20
2011- 23
2012 - 18

Not bad for a leading prop in the nrl playing in a pack with little back up

Love the excitement we all show of rumours about player signings.

But the reality is, any 'potential' that arrives at our club I can't help feel a sense of real disappointment going from our previous signings. Bar Ellis, all signings we've had have stepped backwards in their careers and tend to go into a comfort state.

I kind of feel pity at the thought for young potential stars like Wighton possibly coming to our club - going from what we've seen in the past years, he'd most likely won't be coached into what he should be.

Potter has so much to prove and it's all in his hands to show his coaching ability, both on and off the field.

I hope we keep Galloway but at a realistic price. Our chance of winning with him on the field increase 100%!

I only am interested in losing big Keefy as long as we can find an able replacement for him

If not he stays hopefully

My daughter will be devastated NO KEEFY

Its true that we need him, but shouldn't get into a bidding war. He is worth good money to us, but if another club decides to make him their marquee forward I'm afraid we should shake his hand and say goodbye.

So you are saying he misses about 25% of all games, i dont reckon thats a good stat mate.

After this season it will be about 30% of missed games or to put it another way, he plays 2 out of every three games, pretty poor. Wouldnt re-sign him for more then $200,000\. Value just isnt there. Another one of these numerous Tigers players that hasnt lived up to expectations.

Most props get injured quite a lot compared to some other positions. Even woods had to come from the bench in round 1 due to his knee problems. Not too bad really, if we do manage to get someone as good as him they will likely get injured like him when the pack rests on his and woods shoulders.

Wighton would be great,I mentioned his name in the players we should chase thread on the weekend,he has Croker and Ferguson in front of him,the raiders also have Branko Lee,so he might like a starting centre spot somewhere else, but with us,I would be happy but surprised.

Canberra do have some talent in the backline but i'd be shocked if Wighton is the one they'd let go. Regardless though, he'd be a great addition obviously. As some have said, If Keithy Is let go, i'd want to have an adequate replacement ready to come in. Otherwise i'd be trying a little harder to keep hold of him.

with the increase in cap,all players want an upgrade.
without the numbers being presented, you can't make a call on keep or let go.

all i know is that we need him.

would be interesting to know the average games available for selection for props a year.

love it. Get rid of our senior propr.

He needs to be here to guide woods, buchanan and young guys coming through.

And who doesnt love big keithy charging into the line with that grimace on his face.

Gavet's a prop rather than a second rower Willow - he hits the line hard and to that extent is more effective than Thompson! It'll be his workrate on his return that will be the question so like Groat might have to spend a few games in NSW Cup. Potter's very keen to get him back though.

Wighton would be an absolute brilliant pick up an incredible athlete and exciting to watch.

If you believe Foxsports he's already retired!

 well, to be fair. it does say "currently not playing NRL" so they're right about that :roll

Our backs need more work than the engine room. We have plenty of capable young pigs, only issue is keeping them on the paddock. Blair should put on another 5kg and be permanently cemented in the front row.

I would take Wighton no dramas, but we have Ayshford and Lawrence locked up long term. How do you combat that? Nofo and Koro should not miss out as they are genuine weapons on the fringe and Richards should be tossed in at left centre.

If Keefy does leg it, I'll bet the Pamfers take him. No rumours, no whispers, no BS, just a gut feeling.

Galloway only seems injury prone because he is replaced by very average footballers when out, its the clubs fault not his…. and as bang for buck... he is getting underpayed if you compare his output to that of Blair,Benji,Ashford,Moltzen,Lawerence, Fulton and Lote who would all be getting payed more then him.
The Club has put 8 yrs into his Devolopment, id be shocked if they let him go, and then think we can be competive... with what we have and whats left on the market

Who is out there to replace Keith if he does go, not many, & any good props left every man & their Dog is after them. Keith would get a start @ plenty of clubs who are after good Props, He is a must signing for us.

Their was a rumor going around late last year or early this year that Manly had their sights on Big Red.Maybe their replacement for Kite.

Anyway as others have said,if their is nothing better out their looking for a new home than we must resign him, even if we have to pay a little more than we bargained for.
