Apparently before the TV cameras became too invasive if was fairly common for a player to have a sly slash when they were some distance from the play, quite often from nerves, but in the current era only Don McKinnon on debut for Manly in 1988 was caught out, not by the actual live footage but in a replay of an incident, Wee Donny was fined for it!.

I can remember 2 games where I have played where blokes were hit that hard they lost control of their bodily functions momentarily
