Ryan Tandy

Man of the match tonight. He's really making a fist of first grade RL and with the lack of decent NSW props running around might be a bit of an outsider to snag a NSW jersey next year.

Good work Ryan, nice to see someone come out from behind the veil Tim Sheens forces so many talented players to live behind.

Sheens is a goose,he wouldn't give him a go,prefered Harrison,Payne and Galea at prop, almost killed off Bronson's career, but look at Bronson now he is playing backrow a permanent NZ selection, how can someone who has coached 600 odd games make kindergarten mistakes.

I dunno bout Gower for NSW in 2011 but he sure has it in him to make it if not in 2011 but 2012\. If Tandy keeps it up though he can't be denied.

Seriously though.

8 - Ryan Tandy -
9 - Isaac De Gois
10 - Jeff Lima
11 - Ben Te'o
12 - Bronson Harrison
13 - Lewis Brown

14 - Jarrod Saffy
15 - David Gower
16 - Luke Harlen
17 - Ryan Hoffman

Not bad at all really eh? It's a bunch of forwards that puts to shame a lot of the early WT lineups. Can't fault Shifty too much though cuz of that lot the best of them are backrowers and we are hardly weak in the back row. Still wouldn't mind a few them in and around our team now.

But look at the players we've kept, you'd all be blowing up if we'd kept that lot and let heighington, farah, gibbs, ellis payten, fafita go

It's my recollection that Ryan Tandy chose to leave the Tigers after representing Ireland in the 2008 World Cup, he felt that after appearing on such a huge world stage he was worth heaps more than he was getting at the Tiges.
Ryan spent the bulk of the year playing for the Central Coast in the NSW Cup before gaining a place in the illegal Melbourne Storm 'Premiership' side at the back end of the season.
I don't know if he was on more money at the Storm than the Tigers but the deal couldn't have been too great to jump ship to the Bulldogs half way through the season, Ryan is a prime example however of a Prop who doesn't mature until his late 20's, other clubs should take note here.
On the other hand I was disappointed to lose Daine Lawrie to Penrith and I hear he's gone 'walkabout' again!.

Not often does a front rower get the man of the match award. Great to see Tandy be rewarded for his hard work against a team who put 60pts on Sheens' team earlier this year.

But luckily WT bought Jason Cayless..

Hilarious….there isnt one bloke in that bunch that I would want in our side.

I blame Sheens.

Keeping Daine Laurie was the decision we made that saw Tandy out the door. In retrospect a poor choice but it was a decision made at the time.

Another error has been made over the last two season in the playing of Skandalis. As such we will need to outsource for props or hode the 20's kids come up because from what I know 80% of props in the State Cup comp are looking elsewhere and in a few cases looking for release from contract.

Keeping Halatau was a truly terrible decision though

From this list I would've only kept Jeff Lima. Ryan Hoffman never played for the Tigers in the NRL??…

Is Junior Moors manager looking for a deal elsewhere for him?

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing.

My point isn't bitterness in them being let go. My first point was just that a guy like Tandy and Gower were never given a decent shot in first grade here at WT when they probably should have. My second point was merely an observation on the quality that we've let go. I'm not complaining really at all about them BEING let go.

Tandy WAS and still is a very good prop. He was given very little chance by Sheens, but than again we are not privy to what went on behinds the scenes. He would be perfect for our style of football, big engine, mobile and good skills but for reasons beyond my comprehension he was never given a go. People who think he would not crack our top 17 are dreaming. Anyway is not the first and will not be the last time a players falls through the cracks or maybe pushed out the door.
