The salary cap is going up 1.3 million and the players are against it. What a bunch of premadonnas. We have a salary cap firstly to make it more even, but more importantly stop clubs from going broke. I believe salary caps should be increased. But only Iince every 5 years. If we keep on increasing it itl be detrimental to some clubs.

On a side note how funny is it hearing that clubs assumed the cap will be 9.5-10mill. Thats there own fault if they have salary cap pressure now. Paying overs for players is becoming ridiculous.

If true, this is very interesting. You might find the number of suitors for (at least some of) the big 4 has shrunk, as well as some clubs that have locked down most of their roster being unable to sign the remaining players, or being forced to sell off other contracted players.
You would think that signings would be based on current values with increases factored in based on the % that the cap rises, but there might be a number of administrators out there that are not that cluey.

Players will be angry as many have signed contracts based on what the total of the salary cap would be based on a %

Those who have done so have made a big error in judgement

When you look at it , maybe this whole saga at the WT's has been a blessing in disguise perhaps

I think you'll find the clubs get an NRL grant covering most of the salary cap so the players (whingers though they may be) aren't trying to gouge their clubs, they're trying to gouge the NRL for more money.

I reckon Gus will be on the phone to Unca Nick in a confrence call with Ray Dib as we speak…

Oh well we may as well get used to watching most of them in French and Japanese Union or NFL,or even in Soccer. If there's only one raise in pay over 5 yrs, there'll be no one here
