Considering the playing roster goes up by another 5 places, signing another 5 promising juniors is what most clubs will do in order to be able to keep big money for their stars.

Anyone thinking a club will have 30 first grade quality players on their roster is kidding themselves.

Storm and Roosters probably will have 30 first quality graders

They probably have 17-20 first grade quality players, the rest are fringe first graders and kids with promise.

People do realise we're coming last or 2nd last in every grade this season right? We'll probably be signing 50+ players in all. Yes we need some nrl proven players but we need some promising juniors too as our stocks are the lowest they've ever been in this regard.

It's hard to believe some people don't realise this

Trying to turn some coal into diamonds again. We don't learn from our mistakes.

Twal, one of those coal, was our best player last week.

We've got a completely different recruitment team who had done really well. I can't see how these signings could be viewed as anything but positive. I'd like a few more.

Yeah I agree with that. He played awesome.
Plenty of ticker. It's the first I've seen of him. I don't catch all the games.
Let's hope he doesn't get poached.

Seriously what kinds of salaries are these kids going to be on? Or are you wanting to pay modest dollars for top-tier junior talent?

If the coach is identifying gaps in our roster and signing emerging talent, or talent he thinks he can use/mold, or talent he feels is underused at current club, all with a modest budget, then go for it.

You would think, with your attitude, that no club has ever signed a fringe footballer from any club for any success, hey?

We only sign fringe players and the unwanted.
It works from time to time but when they do come good, we just give them away.
The list is endless. Austin etc etc etc.
We seem to keep the coal and lose the diamonds every time.

Multiple choice quiz. Your club has had problems with retaining talent. Do you:
A) Try to get better at retention.
B) Stop having talent.

The list is endless just starting from Austin. We've let the good ones go and kept the turds floating in the bowl.
