The end of an era?

In my opinion the modern game is suffering from a lack of characters, in it.
There's no big personality's left in the game and I believe what makes rugby league great is the personality's that have been involved in the game.

Love him or not, Sam Thiaday is a big personality in our game and his type are getting fewer and the game is suffering for it.

Willie Mason was another one, I didn't always agree with him but I respected him for being himself and being unapologetic about it, the game needs these types of characters and I think they're a dying breed.

Yeah I agree.
The Sims brothers all speak so well… they maybe not characters as such.. But the media ignore them and we have to listen to dullards like Lockyer instead.

Such a great way for Big Sam to retire. I really enjoyed it. Was true to himself and let his character show as always. Players are so cautious now but one or two will always slip through the cracks.

I agree eh…..
He was charasmatic and good fun.

Tariq Sims is good. If you watch Vossys show the fan u see some insight to players.

Big Sammy B is good if u can get past the accent.

As for big characters, who else we got?
Theyre mostly shy guys (Tuamalolo) or nervous nerds (Teddy, Brooks) or cocky arrogant twits (Norman, James Roberts)
