Best Player - Robbie Farah remains the top Tiger — but his public spat with Gorden Tallis cast a long shadow over his season. So we’re going for Luke Brooks, because of the way he’s handled himself during a torrid time for the joint venture.

Most disappointing player: Chris Lawrence — struggling with injuries, the 25-year-old has failed to reach his prodigious potential which propelled him to Kangaroos rep honours in 2010 and 2011\. One of the few senior players at the club, Lawrence has failed to stand up as a leader for the beleaguered Tigers he has played 152 games for.

Surprise packet: Pat Richards — the veteran winger has been a model of class and consistency,
scoring the most tries (9), 54 goals and one field goal and running 2064 metres. Not bad for an old geezer.

What they did right: Youth — the club might be a trainwreck right now, but the likes of Luke Brooks, Mitchell Moses and Curtis Sironen suggests the future isn’t quite so bleak.

What they did wrong: Where do you start? A dysfunctional board that undermined its head coach while the Tigers were in the top eight. A public spat between Robbie Farah and former great Gorden Tallis that revealed the skipper’s year-old thoughts on Mick Potter. The subsequent and public unravelling of the club involving a feud between Farah and CEO Grant Mayer.

A botched attempt to sack Potter, with an Extraordinary Meeting of the board called for that purpose until revelations to that effect in The Daily Telegraph caused a rethink. Throw in a crippling injury toll that struck down a clutch of key players and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.
