Second rowers/centres

I reckon WT management should go all out to get Wade Graham here next year. He is exactly the type of second rower we need, in the mould of Ellis - big, strong, determined, hard working, edge running back rower with leadership skills, who can play 80 minutes. I know it's sometimes hard to get a player over from a current premiership winning side, but it's not impossible.

Sure you can always try but you're asking a guy to walk away from probable captaincy of a highly competitive side and for what? Cronulla have got Gallen, Lewis, Heighno etc. coming off the books so they'll have plenty to spend in the 2nd row department. I don't think he's a realistic target but by all means they might as well throw a figure at him.

Having looked at ESL second rowers I again come back to Ben Currie (who I have probably mentioned about 20 times) and Liam Farrell who is small for a 2nd rower but is a good defender and has performed well over years for England and in ESL. Both 80 minute options and both young (Currie 22 and Farrell 26).

I think the Tigers should consider the following who are off contract.

Backs - Kerrod Holland, Taane Milne, Dean Whare, Gideon Mosby-Gela, Daniel Tupou, & Kato Ottio.

Forwards - Kane Evans, Dean Britt, Tepai Moeroa, Robbie Rochow, Kelepi Tanginoa, Pauli Pauli,
Peni Terepo & Mose Masoe.

Just a reference to Nelson on ESL players. Check out Mike McMeeken plays second row for Castleford Tigers & is off contract.

Yeah he's definitely on the up and only 22\. I think he's signed with Castleford in 2018 though and they're currently probably a little sensitive about releasing players (thanks Denny Solomona…)

Would love Tepai Moeroa

These 2 centres would be good and not super dear, and definitely an upgrade.

It's a knock on effect from ineffective defence from our halves. It's easy to see from the video thread from jirsyk.
Second row covers for them and the centre's end up covering for the second row leaving holes everywhere.

If Suli is destined to be a centre, might be wiser looking for a winger.

Tupou would be handy, especially under the high ball.

True Flip as long as we have someone who can pin point bombs , handy with his kick return , so far this season he seems to be fresh and renewed

But you'd be wanting some bucks I'd reckon

When Littlejohn takes over from Brooks next year we will have a decent kicker and some cash to spend

Not a lot of proven talent out there, and think that those that are would want a fortune to come here, particularly if some our our big names leave.

Players like Jordan Drew, Jai Arrow, Reimis Smith, Adam Elloitt may be options, with possibly an aging leader bought in.

As Suli is a destined centre i think we should sign,

Jordan Kahu- Pretty Good winger and a very handy goalkicker
Dean Whare (as a centre)- Imagine him and Nofa carving the right side up
Nelson Asofa Solamona- Big forward that can help Woodsy and our bench rotation
Gavin Cooper- Will fix up the defence big time and will play alright next to Moses
Chad Townsend- Would be a great foil for Moses aswell

This is just my opinion but think if we resign Teddy, Woods, Moses, Nofa and sign these blokes that is a Top 4 team

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofaoluma
3\. Whare
4\. Suli
5\. Kahu
6\. Townsend
7\. Moses
8\. Woods (C)
9\. Mcillrick/ Liddle (have been impressed with Mcillrick last 2 rounds)
10\. Seumanufangi
11\. Cooper
12\. Sue
13 Taylor (VC)

14\. Asofa Solamona
15\. Aloia
16\. Lawrence (Utility, mainly back-row)
17\. Young Gun forward

What do you guys think???

I like parts of it, but you're lacking props on the bench. Taking Cooper away from Thurston will also make Cooper look a lot less impressive. His defensive lapses will be more noticeable when he's not scoring tries.

In the backs I think:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Suli
4\. Whare/Milne/Kahu
5\. Tupou/Feldt/Kahu/Mann

The forwards are a tougher fix and it's going to depend in part on how Sue goes this season and where he ends up, plus whether Felise or Tatola firm as first graders throughout the year. We need to sign a quality 80 minute second rower because we don't have any on our roster or any prospects on the immediate horizon.

Sue has to gain weight and play front row.

Hes not agile enough on the edge.

Has hoffman got a couple of years left in him? might be alright if he accepted a lower salary.

I think the experiment with Sue in the back row has to end, but I think our coach is too pig headed to change it. Although he's picking up valuable plodder of the year points I would say.
