SFS THE PLACE TO BE ON MONDAY, MARCH 15
Monday, 8 March 2010

The Sydney Football Stadium is the place to be on Monday night, March 15, when the Wests Tigers do battle with Manly Sea Eagles in round one of the Telstra Premiership.

A huge night of entertainment has been planned to mark the opening game of the season. There is an air of expectation around the Wests Tigers in the ‘Year of the Tiger’.

A large crowd is expected for the blockbuster which will see two special player milestones for the Wests Tigers.

Prop Keith Galloway will play his 100th NRL match and his 63rd in the Wests Tigers jersey.

The 107 kg prop has been impressive for the Wests Tigers since joining the club in 2006\. A knee injury robbed him of the chance of a possible NSW jersey last season but a strong start to the year will see Galloway come into contention once again.

The second player milestone surrounds dual international Lote Tuqiri.

Tuqiri is expected to be named in the team on Tuesday and should he recover well from his long flight from England, is a good chance to make his debut for Wests Tigers. It will be his first rugby league match following a seven year stint in rugby and his 100th NRL match. Tuqiri has signed for three years with Wests Tigers.

Gates open at 4.40pm. Wests Tigers will tackle Manly in the opening round of the Toyota Cup competition from 4.45pm.

The NRL match will kick-off at 7pm.

Not bad pricing but still other clubs are doing better deals for the cheapest seats. The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs have **Kids free** in the General Admission area.

*Children aged 5-15 years receive free entry in general admission.

A family ticket for $50 isn't bad.

I'd love to be there, but coming from Dural means paying M2 toll @ approx $5 (to avoid epping rd traffic), then being funnelled (thanks Yemma) into the Epping tunnel approx $3, then via the Harbour tunnel @ approx $3\. Then get the joy of doing it all in reverse, although this time i get to pay approx $5 for Eastern Distributor plus M2 & Epping tunnel.

23 bucks in tolls + 23 for ticket + 20odd for a coupla cheeky schooners and food = No spankyou

Watching this one from the comfort of the lounge.

What pub is everyone going to before hand?

Usually people head to the Olympic or the Captain Cook. Both are decent. Nice meals at the CC too.

Oh and there is the fox and lion too.

Would be great to get 25,000 out there to cheer KG on in his 100th, and Lote in his 100th, and, well just to smash Manly.
Even though it is a Monday night in the city, I hope everyone makes an effort to turn up to game 1.
I've taken a day off work and will be knocking on the gate at 4.40 to get in and cheer the Toyota Cup team on.

The ticketek website is now selling tickets to the upper eastern stand. This would suggest that ticket sales are very strong.

Kul that is not common, you are right. The upper eastern stand at the SFS is usually locked down for club fixtures. They dont like to pay staff, ushers etc for that section in club games.

That or with a high chance of inclement weather they are trying to allow people as many options as possible

What sort of condition will the surface be in after the Yawn-a-thon on Friday and the Football on Saturday.

Lol. I should qualify that by saying it's a rental 1 1/2 bedder. Does the trick though.

Ahh Dural. That takes me back.

We moved when the god squad started their urban sprawl from Glenhaven
