NRL teams have had trials and games in Adelaide and the crowd attendences have have been pretty small so I don't think there will be a NRL team in Adelaide anytime soon. The commission will make sure that the current 16 NRL teams will survive before they bring any other teams in. The Sharks have been bad for 1.25 years. If they kick teams out because of that then teams would be getting kicked out all the time. We don't want to lose more fans by kicking more teams out.

But the Sharks have been bad _off_ the field for a lot longer then that.

But I do agree that we cant afford to lose more fans, just look at what happened in the Super League war, all the disillusioned fans jumped ship onto the other codes. Crowds for the Sydney Swans went from around 10k to 30k and its been around that mark ever since. Rugby Union went through a golden little period from around 1998-2003 and all this coincided with Rugby League self destructing and fans leaving the game.

Exactly mate, and the Storm have struggled to get a foothold in Melbourne since they began, no junior comp = Less exposure.

It'll be the same with a team in Adelaide.

I think before a side goes to Adelaide, there needs to be more of a foundation there like junior comps.

Thats why Perth is probably a better option, especially with the Western Force struggling in Union over there at the moment.
