Shawn Blore #235

Blore looking at a likely Round 8-9 return after successful surgery on a wrist fracture. Would be a 10 week return to play. Lengthy recovery, possible fracture to bone with poor blood supply (eg scaphoid) & gradual healing progress.

No he didn't

We should be extending his contract now. They throw the word leader around far to often in football clubs, but this guy is what leadership is all about. Strikes me after a five minute chat as a real leader, well spoken, sense of humour, confident and skillful

Blore is one of the best up and coming players we have and by all accounts a future captain.

Cant wait to see him back on the Park

Blore itching to get back and ‘just drill someone’

After suffering a broken wrist in a pre-season incident, ruling him out for the start of the Wests Tigers season, Shawn Blore tells WestsLife he’s excited to get back on the field and put a big hit on.

Blore was originally told he could miss up to the first 10 rounds of the season, but rehab has gone so well he’s looking at returning much earlier and he’s not going to just ease back into the game either.

“I’m pushing for round seven possibly,” said on the WestsLife podcast.

“I told everyone my first involvement back will be just drilling someone.

“It’s just been so long and it gets to the point where it’s frustrating You just want to do something. I’m just hoping the first involvement is a good one. If we’re on attack, get in early and tuck the ball under my arm and just run.”

Other than putting on big hits on opposition players, Blore is also keen to start forming combinations with teammates including fellow Panthers junior, Daine Laurie.

“We had such a great preseason and I was building such good combos with a few boys on the edge,” Blore said.

“I’m just so excited to get back into training and do some of that stuff on the field. It’s gonna take a while.

“The focus is just to get back foremost and just start drilling some people.”

Thanks fpr posting Madge. Possible round 7, good news.

I love his attitude, of wanting to get back in and smash someone.

Excited to see this fella get back on the pitch, and even more excited to see exactly what role he plays.
My understanding is that has played most of his footy at 13, but judging by his comments (and the teams desperate needs) he will play on an edge. We know he can defend, but I'm keen to see what he can do with the ball in hand.

My memory may be wrong. I remember seeing him play for the Junior Kangaroos. He came off the bench and wrecked havoc up the middle. Scattered players everywhere. Good things came after he made runs. His leg drive was insane.

Sounds like the spark the teams been missing, hope we can hold on to him and Tuki for the foreseeable future.
Do we know much about Dean Blore? Apparently played 6 for NZ juniors against Shawn and is 2 years his junior, could be someone to keep an eye on...

Love the quote on Madge. Madge came up to me and asked will Laurie win me a comp?

Such a good question.

Like the fact that Shawn is the one that called Madge and asked if he could come over too. I reckon they've got a good relationship, Shawn seems like a real Madge type player

I wonder what edge they plan on playing him?

That will be interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing Lucy shift to the other edge, Jet might get more ball to work with as Lucy is seemingly drawing more defenders to try and shut him down and that left edge needs someone like Blore to shore up the defence
