Shawn Blore #235

That’s why the barely let him develop in NSW cup last season

Did better than good. Above average after back
to back injuries. We lost Kiti Kautoga & Brandon
slotted in really well in that cup side. Let's see,
first proper pre-season in a while let's see..

Surely too early to write Tumeth off?

He's someone I would love on my team. He's
a demon. 100 or nothing. My post was related
to his size and position that's all. He's a local,
I understand the extension but at what cost..

Seems thrilled to just be playing NRL to me, I’ll be interested to see if Bellamy can get the killer instinct out of him.
I think any killer instinct will come as much from his teammates as it will from Bellyache.
Have you watched how the senior Storm players are not adverse to giving it to their teammates, especially after a dumb play.
That’s something we lack, players taking ownership of the team standards on the field.
Penrith and Broncos do it as well, interesting eh?

Yeah it’s to early to judge the likes Mansfield and tumeth but it’s not like the tearing doors down to get into the top 30, they’re not even tearing down the door to ressies. So again poor roster management.

When you look at other teams top 30 everyone has a purpose ours is filled with 30% nuffies
I blame Ivan Cleary. His phrase "Big 17" was exactly what was needed to shake us away from the Big 4.

The problem was he recruited and spent big to get about 23 first grade fringe players. Our so-called good players weren't great (Reynolds, Mbye, Packer, etc) and our depth was just bad.

We really needed top shelf and we really only have it in our Hooker.

Really?
I know next to nothing about him. What makes you think he can be effective in the centres?
From the little ive seen ive thought he would be a centre if he were to make it as a first grader.
Good lateral mover, good hole runner and excellent one on one defender.
Doesnt have the evasiveness, power or skill to ever be a strike centre but a good defensive centre that can run a line for a skilled ball player.

read on here he’s played there a few times (read on forum)but I watched him play the 19s origin game there when injury opened the door
pretty reasonable defensively from what I have seen aswell. But possibly not a game breaking center
Just a thought I had and is all speculation from my part but I don’t think it is so far out there if it did happen

The name Kyle Lovett comes to mind. Same build, tackling ability and hype when young. We cling on hoping they will grow into elite 1st graders. Didn't happen. Always saying another coach will turn them into champions and come back to haunt us. So we keep them. Wrong mindset. Wrong judgement. Wrong people in charge.
WT forum members hate losing players thinking "there's still a chance' (taken from the movie Dumb and Dumber") Our selectors need to get their act together on body types, speed and IQ on what's needed to be kept or let go. Wont always work out but what criteria they have been using the last 10 years needs to change.

PS.
Kit Laulilii, Josh Feledy and Chris Faaguta come to mind. They get the forum hype, pocket rockets, BUT;
IMO do not meet the right criteria to be 1st grade body types to last very long in the NRL.

I would agree with some comparisons between Lovett and Tumeth, however Tumeth is much more highly rated. Lovett had no reputation at all. Tumeth has been playing for NSW since he was 14 and captained all Balmain junior teams he played in.

On another's comment re Tumeth and centre, NO. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.

He filled in their once playing for nsw u19s. But as a regular centre he would be like Lovett. Smalls, slow, not a great mover or agility. What he has is mongrel. He's played a lot of prop despite his size, he's a competitor and he does run some good lines. He's a dangerous runner from 5-10m out but particularly against men doesn't have the power or evasiveness to punch holes in defence like Cam Murray can
