Have to Agree , Bateman was trying his arse off , when you try and do your job and do th8ngs others should be doing you will mess it up , most coaches say each player has his job , 1/2 of our players last year failed to do their jobs hence a wooden spoon , we have maybe 6 players from 17 who had a real go,
Klemmer , Bateman , Bulla , Twally , API , Ice
1/2 a go at it , Staines due to injury , Blore back end after recovery and actually getting a go

Ice and Bateman can both play 80, barring injury he is at least first drop. I assume that’s a major reason Blore is looking at the exit.

I actually liked what I saw of Blore playing in the middle, was actually making breaks and looked dangerous in attack.

Would like him to stay and have a decent run with injuries, but unfortunately that is one area where we actually have some options due to depth.

We don’t need to save for Luai by not agreeing to the swap. We can afford him and still make the swap. It’s just on hold at the moment. I reckon we’ll hear something about it again soon.

They both can play 80 minutes but at what cost? Bateman was cooked by seasons end, and I lost count of the times Ice walked back into defence on the blind side completely gassed.

25 rounds playing 80 minutes at their size batters them. We really need to work out some sort of rotation where both don't play 80 back to back weeks. I can't remember which club, but I remember a few years ago someone did this. One week the left backrower would play 80 and the right backrower 60 minutes. Then swapped it the following week. Kept them fresh. Bateman in particular would benefit from playing just 60 minutes.

This is where an impact, athletic type of option comes in hand like AJ. 20 minutes a week on an edge and covering injuries out wide is a significant contribution that he could bring. Simple and short. Maybe even Doueihi could hit an edge for 20 minutes when he returns.

Remember though Bateman was playing the full 80 minutes at lock for a period which involves a shit tonne more work
