Sheens on tactics

Funny how we have NEVER had a bench consisting of "a couple of front rowers, a utility forward and a utility back."

We have never had two front rowers on the bench.

No…not utility back, just utility.
No such thing as utility backs or utility forwards.

Yeah, the distinction is ridiculous, making the need for so-called utility backs and forwards and halves even more absurd.

Geez that is bizarre! The plan is so flawed as Mitch Brown is hardly a utility. If your going to have a back on the bench i'd be swapping Fitzy with Brown first up. It does come across as a paranoid move by Sheens, he hasn't always done it on a consistent basis. The utility forward on the bench is a bit of a joke i think too.

He's been doing it much longer than that hasn't he? Strange. Talk about paranoid.

yes but he had stopped doing it finally remember? then that game happened and now hes obsessed with it again

That theory is probably sound if you have a match fit forward pack that has been playing together for some weeks. The problem is we don't, this week in particular. We've lost 2 in Galloway and Fulton and are playing a 21 year old in Fifita with only about 8 or so Fg games and Moors who has hradly played with our blokes and not seen big game time for along time. Dwyer and Payten are just back from injury too and Flanagan only just cuts it as a forward with his size and is also new to NRL and the Tigers.
How he could exclude a Gower, Mataka or Shirnack this week for Brown is hard to swallow imo.

Jeez that 1 game against the Eels last year is still haunting us. Kicking us out of the finals was bad enough but we still don't have Tuiaki and our coach is scared to have a backless bench because of it.
