Sheens or the Players ??

When do we start to make the call that it may not have been Sheens that was the issue but maybe the players need to bear the brunt of many of the issues ??

Sheens probably has ingrained many of the issues at our club , but the players still need to show up and twice already this season it has been proven that once we are 10+ down we toss the towel and dog it

I think it is simple. We have a lot of players that would not start in the NRL at most clubs You can say they lack attitude, maybe, maybe they are just average players that are not up to it. . Sheens signed a lot of these players and has put together a roster that is unbalanced with little depth. Throw in losing Ellis and Heighto and Ryan a couple of our more consistent players and we are left with a real mess. Sheens will be thanking his lucky starts he got sacked because he are in for a long year regardless.

The deficiencies appear to be engrained in them now. I fear the players who spent so many yrs under Uncle Tim are a lost cause now. Its up to Potter to mold the new generation of players from kids to new recruits the right way

Right now, it does look like the players. Sheens must have been in stitches on the couch tonight, if he even bothered to watch it. As far as i'm concerned. It's up to the players here. Talk is cheap. Results are everything and I know it would be wrong to judge on a round 1 game but it's hard not to admit that tonight at least. The players appeared the issue.

The same occured towards the end of last season. For example the latter round match againt the Roosters at Allianz. Although still a semi hope at the time the team showed very little interest with the Rooster posting something like 22- nil before the first 20 minutes and then going on to win by a big margin against a pathetic Tigers team. I think that Farah was out injured but Heighnington, Ellis and Ryan were playing in that match. The problem seems to me that a section of the team has aged to the extent that they no longer have the passion and interest in playing the football which they had played in their heyday. If youngsters come into such a side their is strong likelihood that they will be infected with the same apathy. Mick Potter is now facing a serious Catch 22\. Should he shake up the player/s spreading this apathy or should he leave a sleeping dog lie?

I believe it the players attitude. They think they are safe. Maybe we need to look at the Storm. How good are they, 1/2 a team of nobodies, but they have guts, fight and play the 80 mins. Who is ther defense coach, we need to steal him or his assitant.

Sheens created the players attitude by letting underperforming players stay in 1st grade,Potter needs to make a stand tomorrow to try and fix this problem, this is completely unexceptable what was dished up tonight.
If Sheens was coaching Reddy would get dropped and everyone else would be sweet,we don't need him and we are still paying for him in more ways than one..

We need to steal their recruitment manager…sorry Warren but you had a good run.

The players know they will not get dropped look at the trial form the under performers kept their spots.
Potter is not going to upset anyone.

Happy this is one of those rare times I agree with you.
That team last year missed the finals by a whisker, despite no halfback, or fullback, forcing players playing out of position, two props short, the loss of Robbie to origin for 5 or 6 weeks, the referee balls up against the dogs, the loss of Robbie's mum… The list goes on.
Sheens saw miller was not the half solution, the last 2 games have proven this right.
I said earlier tonight the board listened to the wrong ego.

sheens put this team together, its that simple. We just dont have the cattle to play the hard physical game that is required today. They will improve, but they will really struggle against the better sides

Sheens is responsible for this team he built it and did all the recruitment.Potter will change the culture and get rid of the deadwood but it will take time hopefully he starts this week by getting rid of Utai Moltzen Anasta to reggies permanently

Oh I get it now. we keep blaming Sheens until we start winning then we praise someone else.
Why don't you guys get over it. It's a game of footy. You get 30% possession you get smashed.
Bestr thing going for last night was the tackling practice we got. It may have actually done us some good.

Agree with the first part. Giving away stupid penalties isn't taught; dropped ball and silly passes isn't either. This game is also a mental game and the loss of Mosese so close to the start of the season probably hasn't helped the the cause.

Not a great start to the year. Sitting at the bottom of the ladder isn't going to help moral. Just hope Potter realises that and cracks the whip.

it's sheens players Potter did not sign ONE of these players remember he didn't come in till October Sheens has left him a mess useless players like Utai and Anasta who should both retire and leave the team

Benji is our no 1 problem but everyone is too afraid to say it because of his profile as a media darling.

I've noticed on RL preview shows etc panel members skirt around saying what they really think and say things like he needs to touch the ball more and things like that, instead of just calling it as it is and saying he refuses to take the ball to the line, he refuses to run the ball, his kicking and last tackle options are the worst in the NRL and as a result puts pressure on the teams defence which is already overall flimsy, his defence especially close to our line is weak and he let's tries in week after week.
