why on earth did we sign him for another 3 years??? some people on here wanted us to sign him for 3 years for stability. well where is the stability now??? after that massive loss to souths last year (and rumours of big trouble in the camp) it looked like our season was over but we ended up making the finals and i gave credit where it was due and said that i wouldnt mind if we signed sheens until the end of 2012 because it was looking like things were improving. i was very disappointed when we signed him until the end of 2014\. i dont think he deserved that long a contract because we have only made the finals once out of the last 5 years since winning the comp and things dont look too good this year.

Nobody was privvy to the negotiations that saw the renewal but I think we are getting some sort of idea now. The "cleanout" looks to have been an integral part of these negotaitions. If so, it would be interesting to see where the strategy came from (CEO, Coach or board).

i have a feeling it might not be all Tim. It seems out of character that he shows blind loyalty to the likes of Fitzy, JMo, Moltzen etc and then do a complete turn around and then seemingly cut players like heighno.

I just doesn't seem to add up?

Good post…..very original...hope it didnt take you long to think of it.

u were one of those people happy about signing him until the end of 2014 :roll

blind loyalty to Moltzen?

he dropped him to the bench and has played him out of position for most of his career in favour of other halves. How is that "blind loyalty"

the criticism of some people here is warranted, but it doesn't do anyone any favours when rants are littered with falsities. If anything it's detrimental to the cause

Kul - fact of the matter is that in the role he was chosen to do he hasn't really performed. Do you think his form over the past season has warranted regular selection?

BTW I do feel for him as he been shuffled around. He is a specialist half and that is all.

Also what is the exact "cause" you are referring to?

A lot of things don't add up at the moment coopy. In time it might be possible to look back and work it out as at the moment only a select few would know the real goings on.

It could be a matter as simple as poor salary cap (mis)management and if so that person(s) should be held to account. It could also be that the Board and/or Humphries have embarked on a strategic plan which sees the team rebuilt for future success and the only way sheens was resigned is if he agreed to be part of the plan. This could account for why it took so long to resign him and support your point coopy about Sheens being present whilst players are cut, which is out of character for him IMO. regardless of which it is and there are other scenarios as well, the way it has been managed is bad unless the timing was forced unexpectedly.

But I thought they were desperate to keep sheens, so I thought he would be the one calling the shots.

I don't think I will bother anymore, all this is doing my head in.

Wake me up when it is all over 😕 😕 😕

yes but i dont go and make endless post about it though do i.I dont say 1 thing and then 3 months or so after a few losses say another. You say you were happy he signed then you say he should have been fired in 2007 make up your mind.

Your post has been done over and over…..

Good point - Cunno. I think you may well have hit the nail on the head.

As for the Penrith offer, I think the pokie tax will hit them very hard (hence Gus' rant in the SMH and the roast today). Sheens is no fool and may would have been aware of proceedings. He may not have been overly keen to go and has decided to play ball with the powers that be.

at the end of 2007 i did want us to have another coach. i was never happy about us signing him until the end of 2014.

Whilst I'm not a big fan of Sheens being re-signed for another 3 years, I have to agree with tiger4ever on this one - the threads on this topic have been done to death! I think we all know where most of us stand, one way or the other, but none of us can change anything now, so we may as well put all these Sheens threads to bed.

but one of the main reasons why some people liked us re-signing sheens for another 3 years was for stability reasons.

So 2 years after he created a miracle you would have punted him…..yep ok good work.

lost in space

morris in the halves for 1 season was enough for me

Yeah so….just cause hes letting go of some players to improve our roster and sign up all our juniors coming through so in your mind thats not on?.Lets see who we sign before commenting if we get blair and reddy signs thats 2 top quality players and others will depend on who else goes.

The old morris chestnut.....that is one nobody understood.

yeah but we arent going well this year either. i think we are lucky that we have won as many games as we have. how many games has the team played well for the full 80 mins this season???
