Shot clock

What the hells the shot clock @ scrums for?

Why is it called shot clock and not scrum clock?

Is it a rule I've never seen applied… Is there a penalty for doing something?

Meant to be a penalty for delaying the game but it is never called. I’ve seen the clock run out of time a couple of times and they just play the scrum anyway.

Was introduced to reduce time at stoppages but now everyone stands around for 40 seconds

Yeh thought it was a bludge clock.
Interesting they display the drop out clock on tv but not scrum one… I guess because they know it's a gimmick nothing more
