Should i skip work this friday?

Call in sick for sure. Most importantly though, don't make any mention of the game leading up to the shift to avoid suspicion when you call in.

thanks all, decision made! yeh its only casual work and the wests tigers takes pecedence.

And good to get lots of second opinions from so many learned health professionals on here

i wish i could join alot of you down there at the ground but i will be cheering in my living room in all my tigers gear

To Whom it May Concern,
Due to a severe case of Footy Fever Brissietiger 67 is unable to work this Friday, 9th September.
Footy Fever is a serious condition that afflicts large numbers of people during the rugby league finals series. I have personally treated many cases this week. I have noticed that Wests Tigers supporters are particularly susceptible to the increased pule rate and rapid speech associated with the condition. During game time I expect excessive sweating, increased blood pressure and the onset of a sore throat.
Should the Tigers win he will be unable to resume work until he has secured tickets for the next weeks final.
Should you need any further information regarding this illness please e-mail WestsTigersForum for expert advice.

Footy Fever is infectious for 4 weeks. Sounds like you have severe case BrissieTiger67\. Best you look after yourself. When the Tigers win, your symptoms are likely to worsen. Don't you remember the great pandemic of Black,Gold and White Fever in 2005? Play it safe. Let work know you will be back Tuesday 4th Oct.

Okay so I have been rostered to work this friday from 430 to 830, :bawling missing the whole game live at home instead of waiting for it on NRL.com

dilemma…should i call in sick friday morning?

they usually dont have a problem with it but usually i am actually feeling sick

whats the thoughts?

Mate any self respecting boss if you approached him and explained the situation should swap the shift for you
I know who all my staff support if they are mad footy followers I roster them accordingly
Works both ways also If i ever need someone desperate i will say "remember how i looked after you during footy finals"

I'm rosted on to work but like last year my eye problem is coming back and I just can't see myself going in to work

phone call made. *cough*

yay! now to enjoy the day and wait for the greatest game of the year.

plus the gf is going to work and then office party so i dont even feel guilty

Lol, I will be at a wedding tonight and have made comprehensive plans to keep in touch with the action .

Plan A :
I have researched a few different ways to stream the game on my iPhone.

Plan B
Just in case that failed , i visited the reception venue today and spoke to the staff ,they told me they have a TV in the staff break out area and I'm welcome to pop in and out to watch the game during the wedding .

Plan C
If I get stuck at table for speeches during wedding ,( and streams are not working) I will listen to game on radio .

Plan D
There is a Pub 50m down road from reception venue. if my GF is drunk enough by 745 and i think she wont notice if i go MIA. I will be missing 2 x 40 min chunks of the wedding "to get some fresh air".

So If i could chuck a sicky , I would be watching the game in Homebush.
