Sick and Tired of our players snubbed for origin

In the wisdom of the NSW coach we finally have a team that the AFL can be proud of.

Seven St George players and two hookers in the team. In the heartland of rugby league
where the AFL are trying to establish a team not one spot for a west tigers player.

Go QLD and every other west’s tigers fan should do the same as I am sick and tired of our team being snubbed.

There are only 2 players in our squad who are remotely Origin Quality

Benji
Galloway

I leave it to you to figure out why they won't get picked.

I thought Galloway deserved to be picked, especially over King.

After last night and the last few SOO games it's been expected. They just don't like us.

In the tele it says Bennett had a lot of influence over the make up of the team. This is the same man who chose merely one of our players after we won the premiership.

No coincidence the team is full of dragons and of course Michael Ennis got picked, Bennett thinks of him like a son.

I dont think they DONT LIKE US at all.

I think it is because we as a team are too hot and cold. Most of the players selected are pretty consistent.

Gall IMO was unlucky and a loss of that magnitude when we were odds on Favourites on SAT Didnt help.

I dont think its just cause they are Tigers players that they got snubbed, for example on what planet is Trent Merrin better then Aiden Tolman ????

They screwed the entire team up, may as well engrave QLD on the trophy now.

They already have engraved our name on the trophy . And I think they would have no matter who they picked for NSW But at least if they got the side right it would of been competitive and NSW may have won a game

Agree seadoggy. Our players are just not consistent enough. Look at some of the previous players who have played State of Origin in the last 20 years:

Roach, Elias, Sironen, Linder, Gillespie, McGuinness - no current first grader could honestly put themselves on par with these players.

yeah … our players perform so consistently well .... that's why we are top of the table ........

I understand your point - that Tigers don't get picked because our team is inconsistent. But how does this explain 8 players picked from teams lower than us on the table?

We have a good Team of Footballers that are Rep Level. The others are below that level…

Benji - New Zealand Captain
Robbie - Will be in the end of year Australian Team
Ellis - England
Lote - would be in Qld team if not injured
Lawrence - as per lote

Thats 5 quality players from our regular 13...

None of them were snubbed. Just like last year, the team has made an inconsistent start and therefore none of them have done enough to warrant selection. Especailly Robbie, who hasn't done much at all outside of the Raiders game. Big Keith should be running over the opposition but his efforts have been less than spectacular. I'd think if Lawrence hadn't been injured he'd be an automatic selection, but I can't say the same for anyone else.

Lets turn this around from Today onwards.

Im Now happy our boys will be there for our game against Penrith and wont be backing up for the game against the dragons at Kogarah the following Sunday.

Im glad we have no players in SOO anyhow, we cant afford to loose more players at this stage of the year either. We have enough problems as it is. I agree that Lawrence and Tuquiri would have been in SOO if they where available though.

I dont think we have been that unlucky. The people who are sort of around rep level are:
\
\
Lawrence - was 100% certainty for left centre.
Tuquiri - is well past it anyway and if fit shouldnt of played origin anyway, hes adopted the Wests Tigers back three culture of getting the ball, running side ways, throwing two fake inside ball dummies before straightening every time he gets the ball.
Benji - Kiwi
Heighno - doesnt have the impact to play origin. He has heart, but so do Gallen, Bird, Watmough, Lewis etc - and they can actually dent the offence.
Dwyer - still has a bit of work to do, it was only 6 weeks ago guys wanted him on here dropped. He needs to get involved a bit more - and im sure he injured himself Saturday anyway
Ellis - Pom

And then that leaves two:
Galloway - no unluckier than TLL. Galloway needs to work on charging onto the ball a bit more. The front row is an honest lottery. Theres no guarantee Merrin, Mannah, Snowden or King will be there game 2\. If Galloway has a big game the next two weeks I think he will be there as at least one of them props will struggle in SOO 1.

And then that leaves Farah. Despite not being as consistant as hed like this year I still cant fathom why Ennis gets ahead of him. A quiet game from Farah is a standard game from Ennis. Id have him there, but maybes they feel theyve taken two many risks with Jennings and Soward that Farah would be one too many.

Parra, Cronulla, Penrith, The Rorters and Canberra have been inconsistent, too… yet they still get players picked.

I don't know about that. Gasnier writes for the Terrorgraph and I can bet my bottom dollar if Lawrence was fit and in the mix, that mutt Rothfield would have started a love-in campaign for Gasnier of Ennis-esque proportions.

Gasnier I think you will play on the right and Lawrence would of been certain for left centre over Jennings.
