Its funny we talk about signing a coach when we have one of the best in Tim Sheens.

3 finals appearences in 16 seasons warrents being one of the best? :crazy :unamused: 😕

Has hasler ever coached a full season and NOT made the finals? I would be interested to see a full week of training with furner/smith then a full week with hasler/mcguire

I'd bring in co coaches. Graham Murray and Daniel Anderson. Between them they know how to build a team and get them to grand final, only problem is they can't crack it for a premiership. Maybe having them join forces will be enough for all to succeed. I know it might not be the best solution, but hey I'm looking for answers.

The reality is there is every chance a new coach will change the Tigers into a new unit, probably cut players to attract players they believe will provide better value to 'their' ways…

Some on here have this idea sacking Sheens ends there... They forget to realise a new coach might think Benji is better suited at Fullback; Lawrence is better suited at 5/8; Woods is better suited on the Wing; and Farah & Fulton do not suit 'their' style and can leave...

Be carefully what you wish for!

Thats what we need CHANGE, this group needs to be challenged, taken out of their comfort zone and held accountable. I have said a million times Sheens is a good coach, probably a great coach but the time has come for both parties to head in a different direction and I dont believe its a good idea for him to move up stairs in some sort of coaching directors role.

Their are no guarantees in life and not all changes in life work out but you cant sit still

According to some people we need a wholesale change of the culture in the club as "players/coach/administration are in their comfort zone, there are no challenges".
But, we had discussion going on for months that the players are divided, they hate each other, they hate the coach, "divided dressing room" etc. which would say it is exactly opposite.

Please explain.

how about 4 premierships

most career games.

and 2 consecutive top 4 finishes

the admiration of his peers, players, and most league stake holders.

I think he may have missed in his very first year, and I could be wrong, once between the 2 GF victories.

Hasler is starting to build a coaching record that is very, very, very impressive

When he took over Manly were struggling, got them into the semies very quickly (2nd year i think)

2 premierships with 2 very different teams

and clearly doing a wonderful job with the bulldogs.

furthermore he seems to have improved a number of players at the bulldogs very quickly as well as build alot of quality players at Manly.

Interestingly he takes a very slowly. slowly approach with juniors and young players, most notably DCE (who had to play a full year QLD cup after dominating at NYC), BUhrer, Lussick and even T-Rex were brought on much slower then average giving them small stints slowly building them up. This year he is doing the same with Jackson, Finucane and Tapau. This is very different to Bennett and Sheens (and others), who like to bring them youngsters in and get them up to speed.

clearly a great coach.

Bellemy is a good coach, i want him to stay at Melbourne and see how they go over the next few years when some of the youngsters recruited in the open chequebook era get upgraded to true value, they will surely lose some more quality once they have to upgrade Duffie, Proctor, Bromwidtch, widdop to their fair value. If he builds a good crop from there and stays at the top ill be impressed.

It can be argued that Sheens has/had shown similar success with a number of players: Bell, Utai, Ryan, Woods, Dwyer, BMM, Halatau, LeFranchi, Marshall, Farah, Richards, Prince etc.

Tigers should have made the G.F in 2010 & 2011\. They had the talent to win the G.F in both years.
Failure to protect a "winning" lead has been the greatest weakness of the team.
The team leaders & coach have to accept full responsibility for these epic heart wrenching losses.
Tigers playing performance has peaked & is now on the slide down.
Tragic freak career ending injuries to gamebreakers Taniela Tuiaki & Simon Dwyer have been very costly too.
Tigers need a change NOW. At the very least Stephen Humphreys must have a post-Sheens plan in place.
As the saying goes "if it aint broken…".. well I'm saying the Tigers are BROKEN!

How long has Hasler signed with the dogs for? He would definately be the one to get. He would attract great players like no one else!
