Signing News Tomorow

Some re-signings or signing to be revealed tomorrow according to Grant Mayer. Were meant to be revealed earlier but pushed back due to what happened with Benji. Got a feeling it is the re-signing of juniors but time will tell.

On a side note, his Twitter is one of the best I have ever seen - he's really getting down to the ground level with the fans here - even posting his office number publicly! It's really top quality stuff.

One of the most transparent guys ive ever seen in this kind of scene - after just reading his twitter I want to keep him on as CEO.

Mayer didn't out and out say it was signing details - I think he said "major news"

You are right mate, sorry read it as "some signing announcements ready" instead of "some announcements ready"

That's not his number, it's the front desk at Wests Tigers.

I'd imagine it is negotiation news for some of our guys? Maybe sponsorship?

Either way it will be nice for something positive to finish the week with, along with a Tigers win.

I think it is signing/re-signing news as the conversation went:

@NothingButWT some announcements ready to go but held back for obvious reasons. Probably Wednesday now.

So its gone from ''announcements'' to ''signing news''….well done milky, cut the crap mate

Read what craegus posted. It's a direct response to a question about signing/re-signing players.

So Mayer says how he is surprised at Benjis decision but he just happens to have all these contracts ready to be signed by the "stars" in waiting. Draw your own conclusion on that one.

No, he said the announcements were already planned. But the timing of them was knocked back by Benji's announcement.

We were always getting them, and we don't yet know what they are so saying its the "stars" is speculation.

Thats not what he said at all. The question he answered was about resigning our young guns. Talk about twisting words.

I agree with you on the stars being speculation. But isn't that what this is predicated on ? That the juniors coming through, the stars of the future, the ones ready for the big time, are going to to make the grade Hence Benji Marshall is not the vital cog in the wheel ?What if they don't make it ? What then ? To me this is all high risk stuff. I know the story re the issues with the money and the coach …. It just irks me the fans who are revelling in this believing this is the remedy to success just like Sheens demise would lead to success .... Where are we running as we speak ?

Not a vital cog? What part of "we upgraded his deal significantly" is being misunderstood? Obviously they still wanted him.

Everything is a risk. But could you tell me your thoughts on Benjis last few years form? Do you think its worth the money being paid, and upgraded? Do you think he would lead us to a top 4 finish playing like he currently is?

they always said benji will be the mentor for these kids
im not sure what you're getting at here tbh.. all seems black n white from mayer

also, a risk would be signing benji in the form he is in right now for ANOTHER 4 years. chances are he only gets worse from now on.

Were you not there in 2010 and 2011 …. It's not that long ago.
Yes, he's out of form .... I had a feeling when a new coach came in it would all end like this.

My question to you is are we all the better for seeing the back of Benji Marshall .... The overwhelming majority on this forum agree with you .... For me as a paying member I was hoping he was a Tiger for life .... And I am very sad that he won't be.
