Surely signing Luai is not dependant on Klemmer moving on to free up cap space. How many players do the Tigers have on their books compared to other clubs on huge money, take Souths as an example they have Cook, Murray, Walker, Trel, Keon K, Arrow, Campbell, Wighton etc all on significant coin.

With Brooks gone we have no one on a million dollars or really close to that figure. Is Klemmer being moved on for a play at AFB rather than freeing up cap space for Luai or is this rumour purely BS given the Tigers are fair game and an easy target for the journos??

Firstly none of those Souths blokes are reportedly on a million. Some maybe close(ish, say 700-850) but we also have about 5 in that range. Whilst there will always be questionable salary caps, I'd also suggest that the likes of Souths have more low end contracts to go with their top end contracts.
They also havent got any obvious over inflated contracts such as Nofoaluma or Doueihi nor would they be paying a couple of reserve grade kids 400k like we are the Fainus.

Certainly not saying the rumour is true and I think we could probably squeeze in Luai without making any drastic cuts.
Try going to the Roster Breakdown page and attributing a value (reported or estimated) to each of our players. I put us at just over 10.5Mil with still a player needing to be added, plus the value of the contracts we are alleged to have paid out. I don't think we are in as great a cap space as people think. Though I do think we can afford Luai.

Klemmer rumour irks me, I understand the guy is on a decent packet but he's also shown himself to be a consummate professional, and someone who knows how the league works.
I believe if you went to the bloke and let him know that you were planning to move him, he wouldn't kick stones or play with any less passion. If Benji's got time to go to go all over Australia on a recruitment mission, he should have time to have a quick chat to one of his current on field leaders.
I guess we don't know what's transpiring, but this feels like another incompetent feather in the very well feathered cap that is Wests Tigers governance.

...So it's not laying the boot in based on a rumour, he's saying if a particular outcome comes to fruition, then here's my take on that outcome.

I had my suspicions that you were involved but didn't want to say anything without proof. I have however passed on my concerns to Lee H who assured me he will aggressively pursue the matter with the possibility of naming the person involved on his weekly radio slot. I would be very worried and suggest you seek legal advice.

I thought I remembered it reported Latrell knocked back 1mil+ offers to stay at Souths. Apologies that was his previous contract, not current one. He certainly appears to be on million now.
The rest I think you've over valued. The articles I've seen all have them on less than the numbers you've given.

Zero Tackle lists a portion of a club's playing roster contracts from media sources and for Souths the following were listed:

Cook is on $750, Graham $850, Latrell $1 million, Wighton $750, Murray, $950 and Tatola $650.

Re Klemmer , Adrian Proszenko on Sen just said the tigers aren’t shopping him but another club has approached them asking if they’d release him .

It’s clearly the bulldogs whose current starting props are Max King & Liam Knight .

The Tigers at this stage have said they aren’t interested in letting Klem go & it’s not a requirement to fit Luai in
