Signing Window for 2022...

I was thinking about this last night.

With all the trouble we have had, or are having with Matterson and JA, could this system be a better solution?

As it presently stands Clubs are able to sign player from 1 November 2020 for the 2022 Season.

What if they could only sign a player from 1 July 2021 for the 2022 Season?

Players are able to be signed for the 2021 Season up to 30 June 2021. Therefore, a player who is signed for the 2022 Season, would not be able to go to the new Club in the 2021 Season because he would not be able to be signed until 1 July 2021.

Thoughts????

I agree but include a 6 week window for negotiations prior to June 30 and only 1 or 2 player movements per club from July 1 purely for those season ending injuries that can occur 🤷‍♂️

I think they want to try and keep all negotiations in the off season would be a huge distraction for players but they certainly need to do something

Could the NRL adopt Ariel Ping Pongs Draft system maybe. Agree current system appears to not be working.

Still disappointing about Matterson and Josh A behaviour. We need to rein this in big time
