Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I love that BS line. As if anyone believes that.
“I don’t know what’s going on, I leave it all up to my manager.”
Then next minute it’s “I have do what’s right for my Family”
The players drive this shite just as much as anyone else.
Add “ummm, I gotta check with the misses”….made famous by Woods

1)Brandon smith or shuster both big buys and probably for bargain less than 400k to play 13. clauses in our favour about fitness and behaviour. Both kiwi and may be lured by benji. I’d prefer smith because of experience!

2)We need to go hard for Royce hunt

3)if this blaze rumour is true where does he play? Wing? Ideally we need to buy another back that’s seasoned and will make a difference. I’d be willing to lose one of the juniors (LOBB or Casey) for a run at the top 8 next year.

Few more big buys and we could be on for next year!

Where is the Blaize rumour coming from ?

If it’s the guy that mentioned it here “quoting Rothfield” .. he then went on to say he was joking…. Let’s put this one too bed hey if that’s all there is to it ..,

Before we buy the entire competition and insert them into our line-up..

1. Bula 1. Mason
2. To'a 2. Staines
3. Doueihi 3. Faataape
4. Olam 4. Feledy
5. Turuva 5. Lobb
6. Galvin 6. Latu Fainu
7. Luai 7. Sullivan
13. Bateman 13. Matamua
12. Sam Fainu 12. Sukkar
11. Pole 11. Kit Lualilii'
10. Klemmer 10. Miller
9. Koroisau 9. Da Silva
8. Utoikamanu 8. Porter

Twal/Sione Fainu/Seyfarth/Luke Lualili'i/Naden/Alaimalo/Fa'agutu/Saukuru/Broederlow/Johannssen...

At full fitness we are looking pretty solid next season.

And that isn't even contemplating Aiden Sezar staying.

There's a few in there that are off, but overall, good job laying this out.

One point I'd like to raise is, in my opinion, Sione Fainu has surpassed Matamua as a lock option. I think he's a lot more dynamic, more of an offload threat, hits harder in defence, is a better mover laterally and from marker and has a comparable passing game (if not quite as good as Matamua who's a former half).

I acknowledge it's a small sample size on both so far though.

Couple things I’d change there, assuming that tigers are true to their word then Turuva will probably be playing centre when he arrives (though things can change). I’d have Lobb over Toa just purely for his aerial ability, Turuva and Toa are both smaller backs so someone with height and size is probably a better option.

Some rumours are saying that Feledy is on the out so someone else may fill in that spot. Also Pole is probably more off an impact forward, in the same mould of a Spencer Leniu with less psycho, also highly doubt Kit would ever be a backup for an edge purely based off optics but he is quite small for a forward and even smaller for an edge player. I would probably either have Matamua on an edge or switch him to lock and have Bateman back on an edge. But overall really good looking team.

Your #2s and #3s make me sick.

Another long year with no points in us.

Still a centre/winger and a 2nd rower short IMO.

Think we look better with a genuine ball playing lock on the field which I dont think Bateman offers. Jury is still out on Matamua and Kit Laulili'i. Hope Matamua can get the defensive lapses out and improve his running because I like how he moves the ball.

Totally agree on Matamua his ball playing has been really good we look far more dynamic when he plays the link role, just needs to work on his engine a bit more.

I think Sezer will stay in case our young guys pick up injury or play poor , Sezer and Luai would be ok if needed and he is better than Bud and cheaper

Where are the rumours that Feledy is on the outer?

He only played NRL a few weeks ago and has been progressing quite well in Cup this season I thought.

Therein lies the problem. As WT fans some of us get excited about that list but compared to the other 16 teams in the NRL, its fairly average. We need to upgrade at least 6-7 of those names.

Another small body though. We need a lot of big ass bodyguards to scare people off ragdolling him. We need forwards the opponents hate facing.

Were currently the little fluffy bunny rabbits that every club looks forward to playing, will ease their injured players back ito matches against us as they know they won't be physically tested too much.

Given most of our juniors are well undersized for standard nrl players where are the big aggressive types coming from?

I wouldn't complain about signing him (though people need to realise at least one of Matamua, Faagutu or Lauliilii will move on if he signs) but we still need balance in our pack.
Fa’agutu would probably move on as he is only playing prop in flegg at this point in time

Matamua is finally starting 13 and tbh I think he is doing a great job there although if Duncan becomes available we can’t pass that up hopefully find a way to fit them both in the team
