Yessss Bateman not coming back!!

Benjis 2nd highest achievement from the year...we can afford it and money well spent

Sorry you can’t see that our roster will improve substantially.
For me … next year we will be in the hunt for the 8 right up to the final bell.
And I’m normally fairly negative about our chances.
So my advice ….. Keep the faith.

Genuinely think that’s down to poor coaching not the personnel because our edges have changed pretty much every week and literally everyone they pick does the same thing. Need a serious appointment for defensive coach because I don’t know what Morris strategy is except for non existent

I actually like the Hunt signing, but I’m a bit concerned it might not make much difference if we don’t add another decent front rower. IMO Hunt is effective at the Sharks because their forward pack works well together and benefits from having big bodies running in tandem. With Stefano leaving Klemmer is our only big body up front but he’s getting on in years.

Not sure if it's the results from tonight's game but getting Horsburgh, Hetherington and Bird potentially for the lock position is starting to seem a waste (cap wise). I'd rather a decent defensive centre and wish we'd go for someone like Kotoni Staggs tbh.

If the pack remains the same and adds hunt and Horsburgh potentially That’s definitely an upgrade. I have been screaming for no nonsense defensive centres for years but I’m apparently watching a different game to the people in charge as they think our edge defence is fine. Faatape is young but he’s genuinely one of the worst one on one defenders I’ve ever seen

Edge defence is a massive issue,and everyone knows it.All are capable,but don't work as a cohesive unit

Unfortunately we don’t want him at pre season so has to be some compromise

Just like every other season, teams always improve their rosters, it isn’t a reflection on the improvement of the club though. That’s bigger then Ben Hurr.

We have Bateman and Fainu on contract as it stands, and then Seyfearth and a couple of young blokes

We have Fainu. Bateman won't return. Seyfarth is a middle. Our juniors are all middles too , Tumeth the only young back rower, but he's Ron Massey level currently

Will we have to carry significant freight seeing as he does not want to honour his contract?
Also i presumed the waiting on an offer for Hetherington was Horsbourgh related is it possible it is Bateman related?

we will carry little if Bateman doesnt wish 2b here,if he try;s 2 strong arm us - easy -get on a plane ,return or click up misdemeanors on your contract

There's so many layers to it. Poor coaching, poor fitness and just way too many players that aren't good enough for NRL. Our backlines this year have been disgraceful

Seyfarth cannot be our starting backrower in 2025. I know some fans love him because 'he has a go' but none of the successful teams in the comp would accept his constant lack of discipline and errors. There have been way too many instances in the past two seasons where we have had the game in our hands and he single handedly gives the game away with a stupid penalty or error. He almost lost the Souths game a couple weeks ago with a error then stupid penalty straight after.

His defense is atrocious, he misses crucial tackles on the goal line and has terrible lateral movement. Every tackle attempt is with his arms and not his shoulders and the only reason his tackle % isnt lower is because they dont count complete misses and bad reads. He rushes out of the line and leaves our halves or inside man isolated to make one on one tackles close to the line.

Unfortunately, fans see him string two decent games together and think he is a decent first grader because of our lack of talent over the last 5 years. He has 5 good games a year to go with his 20 terrible games. We cannot be a top 8 team and accept that ratio.

He is a depth player and should be nothing more than that. If you think i'm being harsh that is fine, but at least go and watch the tapes of all the tries conceded in his proximity, errors and penalties he has given away in the last year. Better yet, even look at some of our players body language towards Seyfarth after these tries and you may start to see the frustration.
