Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

@Sunnycoast_tiger Nothing to update as yet, but another club has entered late for Josh Aloiai. Not confident on him staying unfortunately.

Seriously? Are we ever gonna get any good news? You know, actual signings of good first grade players and not losing our own talented ones in the process.

So we are upgrading 2 players that are available from Sunday regardless.

That is the most pointless move I have ever seen in my life.

From what I have seen Seyfarth is currently not up to Canterbury Cup. He is young and may improve, but if he sees first grade this year we are scraping the bottom of a very deep barrel

Feel sorry for Robson. Consistently one of the Magpies best.

He deserves a go at some stage but not sure now is the time. We need to fill out front row stock for this year so if it’s within we go for then it’s a puzzle as our CC stocks are poor.

Very poor form if we lose either Liddle or Aloai.
We can’t attract anyone and have limited room. We need to hold young players coming through.

Aloai, Mikalele and Twal need to be our starting middle forwards next year. Madge has to get them match hardened and playing long minutes like Twal.

@Harvey Seyfarth has played well in CC. His size, mobility and work rate will be a great addition to our NRL side. Under Maguire tough training he will blossom.

@TYGA Someone yesterday compared the potential loss of Aloai to JAC. This is not true and while a little disappointing you have to admit Josh has not performed to expectations. He needs to life his work rate substantially and improve his defence.

@Harvey your 100 percent right this seyfarth I seen play in the flegg he was dead set average at best. obviously someone likes him that other kid madden seen him a few times really don't know what they see in him either

@Harvey I suspect its a cap management issue. If we bring in a non-development player their salary will be included in our top 30 cap. Presumably we can fit the development players within the cap. The reality is whoever is promoted is unlikely to get much game time unless injuries force it.

Don’t agree. He hits the line hard and one of our only forwards to get momentum in tackles we have. The comparison is fair Aloai is young middle forwards take time to develop. He needs more fitness. One year of Madge is not enough to judge .

@TYGA He has his chance against South's but he would not want to continue grabbing in defence and he would want to increase his work rate considerably. He had his opportunity to get fit and do extra if he is the type who needs this training. It all comes down to his drive

Not sure what games of Seyfarth some of the above hsve been watching but to me he has looked well and truly in the top 2 forwards in nsw cup for us with Oli Clarke. He has played better then Rochouw, ET, Mcqueen all experieced fgers.

I think he will take Eisenhuths spot before end of 2020

Christian Welch to Parramatta

The Melbourne prop is on the cusp of a State of Origin debut — ideal timing to be discussing his future beyond the end of the season. He has a player option in his favour for next year, but he is on the radar of several clubs and could get a significant pay rise if he decides to leave the Storm.

The 24-year-old has previously spoken about his love and respect for Melbourne, but while the club are keen to keep him, he is weighing up whether he can take the next step in his career at the Storm.

Big-name forwards Jesse Bromwich, Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Dale Finucane are taking up much of the salary cap space.

While a number of Sydney clubs have expressed interested in him, Parramatta have emerged as the frontrunner in negotiations, with Fairfax reporting they have missed out on luring Matt Lodge south.
