Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

And assuming Raiders let in at least 3 points tomorrow we will have the lowest points against. Still yet to play any of the top teams though but hopefully the improvement there will stick for the year.
we aren't ready for the top teams yet, but our run into the comp seems favorable .Very interested how we play the Warriors ,they are open to easy points, yet are pugnacious in defense

I love this kid! At the fan day in December (?) my grandkid was talking to TDS, and he looked down the fence and said, "Oh! Api's coming! Sorry, but he's my favourite!" TDS laughed and said, "Oh, mine too! He's the best!" We had a bit of a chat and TDS was saying how much he is learning from Api, how professional he is.
Refreshing hey, a young player that's willing to wait and learn, seems now the young players who are touted as up and coming talents arnt shy telling their coaches where to play them. Dasilva seems to have a very humble level head.

Turuva placed on report for a crusher also.

We might have quite a few out.
Looking at the tackle Luai made on one of the Dolphins players asthey were scoring, think Nikorima. Bit touch and go for a hip drop, prob all good, but there might be a chance he gets sighted later if they look at it 🤷‍♂️

I didn't see it. Just read about it. There's a still image that doesn't look great in the article.

Yea the image doesn't look good. But not seeing a fault in Turuva.

It looks like Bostock's neck gets pushed back against Turuva. Toa or someone is pushing Bostock against Turuva... unsure if Turuva is involved in the tackle, need to watch the actual tackle and not the aftermath of people who have fallen down.

Worried re injuries to Skelton's hamstring. Hoping not too serious. If Turuva + Skelton are out, we have Staines + Naden... not the best but at least coverage.

Looking at replays... Players are sliding everywhere.

Look this tackle is bad, but it seems Toa? tackled Bostock and pushed down on him. Bostock lifts his head, the undesired consequince is bostock's head/neck is ramming against Turuva's body...

If this goes to the Judiciary, that photo looks bad but unsure what they can blame Turuva unless he was high initially in the tackle. Toa could be in trouble but all he has to say was "Slippery ground" and that he had no intention of pushing Bostock into Turuva.

Retention we need to look at Doueihi sooner rather than later. He can sign with anyone else from now. Impressed at 7 in the trial, can ball play, can kick in play & can kick goals. Yes D is questionable at times & obvious injury concerns.

Another year with a 2nd year mutual option is what I would look at the $$$ will be the deciding factor. If he looks at the market a few desperate teams may pay overs for the positives listed above.

I would say $600 is about the money with salary cap increases & a starting centre who goal kicks. Just think Vla Holmes got 2.5m over 3 years at the Dragons.

They are pretty comparable with pros & cons

As far as Galvin & TDS is concerned I think it's almost a package deal. Best mates. TDS fully committed, Galvin will follow if the money is close/good enough.

Scott Salter on SEN yesterday said he believes Galvin won't hit the open market as Richo is the best person in rugby league history in "selling a dream" & has a very close relationship with Galvins parents.

Prior to this he said he spent the week with Blake Solly from Souths for his dad's anniversary. Solly & Richo very close. Take from that what you will.

I'd still like a bit more time with doueihi. The way he's started has been excellent, I just want to see him against better teams. the memories of recent years are hard to overlook. He looks much more complete this year, though.

Just like to pay tribute to our recruitment. Either Benji or Richo have really gotten it together. It obviously starts with luai, but may, hunt, turuva, Skelton, bird have all been excellent talent wise and in areas of great need, but all have that competitive edge and confidence that other recent signings did not.

Other posters have pointed to it, but when luai knocked it on near their goalline he turned around and seemed to to try to lift the team. It was a classic tigers moment of blowing a good chance, but he was unfazed and you can see that settles the team. There's been similar moments from turuva and May. When they make errors they're not shy and they try to make up for it. Too often in the past our players seem more comfortable hiding and passive, especially when we're on the back foot.

The warriors will be a good test for us. Them and Canberra probably have the best props in the league.
