Wests Tigers board to discuss early release for Galvin

The Wests Tigers board will on Monday discuss the possibility of whether the club should release Lachlan Galvin from the final year of his deal in 2026.

The Tigers powerbrokers want to open a conversation about what to do with the talented playmaker, including the potential of an early release from his current contract.

The Tigers have been bullish about their intent to hold Galvin to his contract, however there is the added layer of a threatened legal battle that looms around accusations of bullying.

It is a possibility the Tigers will demand a transfer fee from prospective clubs if they decide that it is in their best interest to release Galvin at the end of the season.

Galvin last month informed the club of his desire to depart at the end of his contract, with his manager Isaac Moses knocking back attempts from Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson to offer the teenager a lucrative upgrade and extension offer worth close to $6 million.

Galvin is on the radar of Parramatta Eels, while speculation has grown in recent days about a potential move to the Bulldogs despite general manager Phil Gould publicly declaring that his club would not pursue his services.

“We are not involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion and we won’t be involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion,” Gould said. “We wish him all the best.”

More to come.
'If you don't let my client/me play first grade , I/we will sue you.

Now that's what I call bullying.

This shit had to come out now while we have a game to prepare for smh
Which scenario ...

1 A board member has leaked the board meeting agenda (which means this leak has not changed at board level)
2 Richo has purposefully & strategically leaked it (why?)

If it's 1, I'd imagine Richo & Barry will be deadset livid after doing their utmost to stop this shit!

Either way its a joke and embarassing

a flogging, information about players and board decisions in the media. Feels very 22-24 Tigers.

I would say leaked by Richo so no court action keeping us in the media for all negative shit
Richo probably knows he can get a start at dogs or eels no problem so maybe he has done this to get Mosses to find the replacement player or some cash probably $ 250 k , eels offer say $ 750 to Galvin less the $ 250 so Galvin get out and gets $ 500 k next year instead of at tigers for $ 350 k. I would try and unload him before June 30 if we do have some quality coming early , KPP , May jnr , Prop. Use Mason and Latu rest of year or move TDS to hooker and run API and Luai. 6/7. With Latu or Mason on bench ,

If it's #1 wouldn't it point to the leak being Burgess or Stapleton as they're the only ones that remain from the old board?

We need a prop , now we are getting KPP and May . I’d be looking hard at the middles for the eels especially . Even Fifita from the dogs I’d consider . But a middle none the less .

Thats how it looks...to me anyhow
I was saying that a while back and I thought it was just to let the young bloke make some mistakes and teach him a few lessons about what you should be doing in a team environment, not being a ball hog or going for the hero plays all the time.

But the problem is that it has just gone on for too long and he hasn't been pulled up anywhere near the way he should have been a long time ago, I just don't understand it. 🤔

What the hell is going on because it has been to the detriment of the team and we keep hearing about Team First.

Only thing i can think.of is its to make him look bad...tho its an extreme opinion i know and it is making the team and fans
suffer...but Luai was in control v Saints and we looked better...then melb its back to Galvin basically popping up everywhere and overplaying...just playing for himself often too

Richos' Trumpeted 3rd Signing?

Fresh off winning the 2025 Women's State of Origin series with the NSW Blues, Zero Tackle can exclusively reveal that off-contract forward Sarah Togatuki has made a decision on her future

One of the best forwards in the NRLW, Togatuki has been a mainstay of the Blues line-up since 2020 (making ten appearances) and is also a dual international, having represented Samoa and Australia - she played for the Jillaroos in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Only 27, she is still in the prime of her career and has been one of the Tigers' best in the NRLW since their formation at the start of 2023, having arrived from the Sydney Roosters NRLW.

Initially listed as off-contract at the end of 2025, Zero Tackle can exclusively reveal that Togatuki has agreed to a multi-year contract extension to remain at the Wests Tigers NRLW, per sources.

The news comes weeks after club skipper Kezie Apps agreed to a long-term contract with the Tigers until 2029, and it couldn't have come at a better time with Botille Vette-Welsh, Leianne Tufuga and Pauline Piliae-Rasabale departing the club.
