Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It may be a move by Richo to prepare for life without Bula, given Bula is managed by Isaac Moses. I believe Bula is under contract for 2026, but for 2027 either us or him have to activate an option in his contract for that additional year (if we activate it it costs more, if he activates it costs less - $100k difference from memory).

I think the club will look to activate that option for 2027 …from memory it means they have to pay him $900k …

I’m hoping he decides to extend here .. the decision is his at the end of the day, not the manager

I dont think he is ready.
Ponga just needs to really put in.
I remember when tim botched that quote on "meet the boss" and said

" if youre old enough, youre good enough"

Benji is also one for the odd clanger, but hes less dodgy and imho, a better coach.

The best way of getting Ponga to perform is to drop him. You can count on his fury at the injustice of it all to respond for soo 3.

Although I cant see qld backing up for another loathesome performance again.

Kevvie should be coaching qld origin anyway.

It’s a professional game and players will do what maximises the dollars… the club just cut a guy in the offseason for being late to training because he was required to attend an interview at a police station..
I think there was more behind this story than just turnign up late one time.
Otherwise there'd be a legal case against the tigers.
Also, where is Miller playing now?

Connor Votano is a fullback. From the Central Coast. I saw him star for the Blue Haven Raiders back when he was in the under 13s. Tall kid with plenty of poise, can score points. Played NSW under 19s from memory.

Given we have a fullback, I guess somebody in the club thinks he can become a centre or winger ?
Seem to recall he got a few massive wrap on some of the pods before the emergence of Fletcher Sharpe, interesting move by the club, would have to imagine the idea is that Mason now becomes halves depth and we are without a first choice NSW Cup fullback.
If he is as good as advertised this is a good move in terms of succession planning.

Tough one. I don't disagree with you but I also don't agree. The club is just like any work place. TDS is absolutely in is right to say "for me to work here i need X to be apart of my contract". Just as the employer has the right to reject or accept those terms. Obviously all players want to play first grade, finals and grand finals. And tigers from all reports are hard to deal with while also having poor results. Gives players alot of hand in the negotiations
I agree that it’s normal to have discussions about player expectations but those discussions should take place behind closed doors and remain private. The manager apparently made public statements in the form of an ultimatum that involved another player. That’s not respectful of API or the club and reflects badly on TDS. The vast majority of players are able to manage negotiations with the club without the drama. AD represents himself and seems to have no difficulty. If true, it’s a shame, I had the impression TDS had a team first mentality and was more level headed than this.

I thought legal proceedings were taken by Miller ? According to this article this is going to an arbitration… with our old mate Lee H acting on Millers behalf

either benji or richo has an affinity for newy outside backs, star, mapapalangi, votano

good recruitment they’re stacked with origin ones so no pathway to 1st grade .
Are you kidding? If these guys can't move Fletcher Hunt out of the team, they are not very good.

There is no way in hell the RLPA signed off on this unless the Tigers had some decent footing.
the whole thing stinks to me
- A young rep level football player gets sacked from top grade,
But doesn't even go get a park footy gig just to keep at it?

It's like that Topine thing - If they wanted to be a footballer...
Why aren't they playing football, rugby - Something?
last I saw - Miller was fighting? Apparently he's going to Parra - they've got a squillion dollars of middle forwards playing ressies, Why isn't he there already?

Seems to me some of these blokes want someone to buy their shoes and tie the laces for them.

We need to force the issue with Bula now.

Drag him up to the office and give him a surprise ultimatum.

Api, JL, Benji and Richo in attendance.

Hes to sign an irrevocable letter of disengagent of Satan.
That will no doubt end well for us.

Didnt say three players, didnt mention how many.

I wonder how well known it is in league circles that were basically running on an oily rag, resources and funds nowhere near other clubs
Which is strange, I understand Richo and the board wanting to be self sufficient, but when you have Holman Barnes Group as an owner, funds should never be a problem. Adele was saying our pathways and scouting programmes are massively under funded and we cannot compete with other clubs in that space. Richo should go to Holman Barnes and ask then to start pouring money into the joint.
