200k is almost minimum wage. Players on 200k are usually number 28-29 on the roster.

Staines and Naden are both on double that.

People really are out of touch with salaries and rises from the cap increase.

You are probably right on Staines and Naden as that is basically the average cap payment. Still, $200k is currently more than 50% above the base salary of $130k that rises $5k a year through 2027, so WT need some 3 roster spots on the barevminimum just to compensate the difference above average for say Luai alone.

I expect that there are at least a few players at WT and all other clubs on that minimum just to balance rosters.

im just thinking too chooks don’t really have a position for joey unless it’s fb when teddy retires ? they already have great centres in billy smith , toia with tupou and marky mark on the wing .

Pretty sure he told uncle Nick once his rugby experiment is over he's heading back to the Roosters. Wouldn't be surprised if a fair chunk of the money the Roosters are trying to free up will go to bringing Manu back to the club.

No the Chooks recruited him as a kid from NZ and I guess the club has been his adopted family. Also there is probably a job for life at Bondi post football

We cant compete against the all those existing connections.

But we should sniff around, you never know your luck in the big city.

If we could lure Terrell over, there is hope!

The rescuing or improvement of the club by recruits is one thing, but im not thinking we are getting enough of existing players at optimum.

So im not arguing we wouldnt benefit from some select recruits but wed be crazy not to look at recruiting close support staff from the achieving clubs next season. Without or without Benji.

Let them shine their light on us.

KPP would be a great addition to our team at the right price, but I can’t help but think us showing interest or signing Dom Young would have assisted us in also signing KPP.
I wholeheartedly agree with The Chad in thinking an edge back row combination of KPP and David Fifita would make us a much more formidable line up and it would allow Sam Fainu to come off the bench and play as a middle or on an edge when required.
KPP and Fifita can both also easily fill in at centre when required which would give the team plenty of flexibility.

I don't think Fainu would take too kind in being demoted to the bench...
