Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

While we are raiding AJ from the Titans we should go and sign Moeaki Foutaika, as well I think that he would be a great asset.

Do we really need another utility player (Brimson) at this point, how many does one team need? Can we not go after specialist players for the positions that we need to fill (no more gap fillers)🙏.

No chance still lives at home & has done the whole time even when he was at Keebra Park. If he left the Gold Coast I would imagine it would only be for Brisbane. That is without the scarring he has at the Tigers

He could be worth it, would free up Mbye for 6. The two of them could at least split 1 & 6 between them
I think our top priorities need to be a gun prop and a fast centre who can defend

What makes you say he's a utility? Just the fact that he's been used in more than one position? That would make Cameron Munster a utility too, plus Tom Trbojevic and Latrell Mitchell and RTS amongst others...

I guess the fact that his coaches over the years haven’t even figure out what his best position is on field, gives him the title of a true utility much like Conner Watson... As for the others that you mentioned they have a definitive position on the field within their teams and only get called upon to move from those spots due to injuries. What’s AJs position? does he go into the halves? is he a Hooker? is a he a fullback? who knows...Can we afford to spend the next couple of years trying to figure that out?

He made his debut last year and he's only had one coach being the numpty coach that just got sacked. He's a fullback or 5/8. I don't think there's any doubt at this stage that he's a better fullback than 5/8 at NRL level. The skills overlap a lot between fullback and 5/8 and coaches are often eyeing off the potential to move fullbacks to 5/8 because it's just harder to find a good 5/8 (and Brimson already came through juniors at 5/8). I don't think he's ever played at hooker. He's clearly a 1 or a 6 and I think most were surprised that Brennan was dopey enough to start the year with Gordon at fullback ahead of Brimson.
He wouldn't be my #1 target for fullback or 5/8 but he's a quality player in those positions, especially fullback.

I think we’ll agree to disagree at this point...I’d rather spend what little salary cap monies that we have to go after other players that I think would be a better fit for our club going forward.

@TheDaBoss
Is any player worth 1.5 Mil a season with current salary cap @9.6M this would be 16% of the cap on one player
and with TV rights coming up for renewal an increase in income could be doubtful due the the economic climate in the industry and if that player suffers injury at any time paying 1.5m to one player could create a jealousy amongst the other players with undoubtedly some having to be cut.Clubs need to reign in there spending otherwise some will definately go out of existence and when you think about you basically have a one in sixteen chance of winning the comp a lot of clubs are burning a lot of cash for no result.

No!!!!

The Titans are starting again with a new coach, very unlikely guys like Brimson and Arrow leave just as a new coach arrives.

We may have stood a chance if they did not sack Brennan.

Guess the mole has been reading the forum over the last week with his Brimson writeup 😅

Tbh I hope we sign that Dion Samuela fullback from Rugby that people said we were looking to sign over brimson. He looks a real talent.

Just interested Nelson, who would be your number 1 targets for fullback and five eighth?
