Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That’s my theory. They are the barometer. A new club, who didn’t attract any stars their first year. And they are in much more convenient location and they had one of the greatest coaches of all time at the helm. The Bears have a lot less going for them. They already look like being turned down by Tino and Munster. There’s two marquee players right off the bat. I think they will field a team of middle of the road first graders. Not many out and out stars.

I was trying to provide an answer to this question … what the Dolphins did when they started is irrelevant..

Regarding Luai you would think and hope that’s the case, as you say based on what he has publically stated.
But it makes you wonder what he’s waiting for ?

Why do you think he hasn’t he already decided his future in 2027 with Wests yet ?

I would play Turuva before Mason at fullback, his size reminds me of Tyrion out of Game of Thrones, even though Turuva not much taller lol.
Don't know why Mason is even mentioned as an NRL backup fullback. He struggles in KOE. Now aged 20.
He is totally confused where he should play; so is master of none!
He has maxed out like the Felledy, Matumua, Turmuth types.
Just not quite up to NRL level. Needs to be in KOE for 2026 and fingers crossed for improvements or it's bye bye IMO.

I have no idea, but the only logical reason could be he thinks he might be able to get more money out of us ?
As I previously stated, if most of the other big name players currently available for 2027 onwards get signed, we would then have no option other than to increase our contract offer if that was being requested.
Greg could be right, he might be worried we start 2026 poorly and Benji’s job becomes insecure, but his own form should play a large part in that not happening shouldn’t it ?
He might be interested in playing alongside his twin in PNG who knows ?

Some conveniently ignore this
Works both ways it would seem?
Seen individual Players single handedly blamed for us being a shitty team / organisation.
Chicken or the Egg,
Players can't get good Stats cos we're a shit team,
Can't be a good team because we have shit players.

I still think it's in the Walls of the place.
Next year is another opportunity to prove me wrong...

I don’t think it did because you made some irrelevant comment about what the Dolphins did three years ago
I was using the Dolphins as an example, cos they only came into the comp 3 years ago, and barely attracted anyone of note the first year. Just a mix of seasoned first graders and young guys looking for a start. That’s why I said the Bears would struggle, cos they have it even worse.

They got The Hammer … I would rather have him to be honest

Elite players would not be interested if we offer more than anyone else ?
People are quick to forget Luai only signed with us because we offered him more than anyone else.
You can say and think what you like, but neither player is putting the club first if they do not sign to extend with us by the end of this week.
I'm not sure you understand the situation here. Luai is contracted for another 4 years. Nothing has to happen for that to be official. He's already signed the contract.
He has one get out clause which he's already publicly said numerous times he has no intention of activating, so long as we don't totally screw him over.
Bula has another 1-2 years contracted with us too and has also strongly indicated he wants to stay, negotiations on money are all that remain
