Can't see a back being a priority this year. We let momo go to melb and he could of played wing aswell

Good point. Wouldn’t mind an experienced forward even if it’s just for depth

I Like Young tonumaipea, centre is his main position and a reliable player in attack and defence, think he would be a good buy,but where would that leave Mbye?If Mbye goes to the bench then Walters misses out

Has to be a backrower or prop.

Unless it was a back who was going to make a notable difference and not just another depth player, we can't consider them.

All this talk about a last player - everything in the papers talks about dquads being extended to 32 - that means 3 extra players

To be honest I’ve not seen that anywhere - and with the salary cap most likely being reduced next year I don’t see how that would work. They would only do it so they aren’t stunting the development of players I think

James Hooper (who admittedly has the worst mail in the business) has reported that Canterbury are interested in bringing Josh Reynolds back to the club

Meanwhile Wests Tigers and the Raiders are the clubs talking to Jordan Rapana

Hooper is usually wrong
But that sounds great!
Same with the rapana side, we can send jennings to sl

Hopefully Hooper would be right for once. With grant and Walters there’s no need for Reynolds to be here and Rapana would do good on the wing for us too

Hoping he's correct for once

Rapana would be for 2021 not as keen for that. A one year deal for this year would be good though but next year we should be going after younger more exciting wingers.

Would be happy for Reynolds to go

Hooper proper statement

The Bulldogs are having a look at Josh Reynolds … he has been at the Tigers for the last couple of years but has had some injury issues and hasn’t been able to get on the field that much,” Hooper said on Triple M.

“If that were to happen, I think the Tigers could possibly have a look at Jordan Rapana. He went to Japanese rugby, but unfortunately wasn’t able to get on the field as a result of the coronavirus that shut down global sport.

“That would mean BJ Leilua and Jordan Rapana – who had such a successful combination at the Green Machine – could potentially reunite at Concord.”

I’ve seen reports saying Rapana is already back with Raiders, and others saying it’s very likely he will be. Don’t think we’ll get him which is a shame

Edit: NRL report saying he’s joined raiders.

Sat 2 May 2020, 07:43 PMKiwi international Jordan Rapana will rejoin Canberra’s top squad on Monday for the rest of the 2020 season.

The coronavirus pandemic that has shut down rugby league for the past six weeks has resulted in the Raiders grand final winger returning home from Japanese rugby union, where he had signed for the Panasonic Wild Knights under former Wallabies coach Robbie Deans.

Canberra are yet to make an official announcement, but NRL.com understands a short-term deal for the remainder of this year’s competition is being finalised.

The 30-year-old will link once more with his old teammates when they return to Raiders HQ on Monday for biosecurity briefings.

Rapana scored 68 tries for the club across six seasons, and represented New Zealand 11 times at Test level, before departing after last year’s grand final loss to the Roosters.

He has spoken openly of his desire to return to the NRL both leading into his departure for Japan and since returning to the ACT earlier this year.

NRL.com understands Rapana fielded interest from Sydney-based rivals as well but has always made a Canberra comeback his first preference.
