I personally want grant to go back to the club that developed him, and gave him a chance to grab an origin jersey with a rival club. I would love for him to stay , sure, but it really is poor form . We have Simpkin and Liddle, 2 very different 9s who could compliment each other perfectly. And both have shown to be keen to build their future here. There’s talent in all 3 , so we are in a position at this club .

Don't know how it can be considered poor form if we got him to stay? Poor form is the norm, look at the way Roosters pillage top juniors from other clubs, they don't have a conscience when it comes to having guilty feelings towards a club that has nurtured homegrown talent over a couple of years/through injury etc like Tedesco.
Grant hasn't been at Storm long at all IIRC, not sure how much time and effort they have put into him.

It’s poor form because the deal was brokered on a sense of trust where as both players return to their old clubs . You can rationalise it however you want , but it is not the moral thing to do despite what the roosters do or don’t do .

Really it comes down to Cam Smith. The contract has the clause and nothing is being done under the table or behind closed doors. If Smith stays, Harry goes...everyone knew this from the start.

The trade deal we have is a first for the NRL if it it goes down the path where we end up with both players in the end the NRL might not allow another trade deal in the future, so grant has to go back to storm after this year

Honestly, if Smith wanted to go around for another year or 2, I'd take him for 2021. Otherwise, Liddle and Simpkin should give us enough in the hooking role.

We have options whatever happens.

5/8, Centre and Wing need taking care of in the backs and we need 2 top line forwards.

The guys I'd take a look at for next year are:

Brett & Josh Morris
Soliola
Katoa
Proctor
Cam Smith/Harry Grant
Momorovski
Blake Green
Aubusson

Many of these guys are at the back end of their career, but still producing good performances. We might be able to get a Ferguson style situation going on.

I think our young guys aren't necessarily ready and some older heads might give us some quality until the young blokes are ready.

Wouldn't read too much into it.

Harry Grant's original contract had the get-out clause. He had to sign a new contract for 2021 and 2022 with Storm as part of the trade. Does anyone know for sure if the get-out clause is still in the contract?

Newcastle could lose Tex Hoy after locking in Kalyn Ponga for another four years
Locking in superstar Kalyn Ponga for another four seasons is a huge coup for the Knights, but where does that leave rising star Tex Hoy Could be worth looking at ,Marshall on the way out Douhei to 5/8 Hoy to FB 20 year old played well on debut well thought of in the Hunter but can they afford to keep him a half decent offer might get him away from Newy

Hoy won't leave Newcastle. His father is a surfing icon in the Hunter and the Knights will ensure he stays, as they should.

That’s all well and good however they have Ponga, Watson, Crossland, Pearce and Brailey signer longterm as spine players. He isn’t even guaranteed a bench spot moving forward and certainly not decent money

So next year, Storm could have the Qld and Aus hooker Cam Smith, NZ hooker Brandon Smith, and NSW hooker Harry Grant.

Sounds 'bout right.

No - The Grubby Smith has retired from Rep. football.

Grant is a Banana bender so will not be playing for the Blues.

From Sporting News

St George Illawarra Dragons winger Mikaele Ravalawa has re-signed with the club on a three-year deal, keeping him in the Red V until at least the end of the 2023 season.
The 22-year old debuted at the beginning of 2019, and has scored 14 tries in his 23 NRL games to date.

The Fijian international said in the official club statement he is excited to continue his career at the Dragons, and believes he will continue to improve.

"I'm happy to be re-signing with the club. It's so good living down in the Wollongong area and I'm very comfortable with my decision," he said.

"I'm super excited to go around with the Dragons again and spend further time with the boys here.
"I have built great relationships at the club, which can be tough to do sometimes being from Fiji.
"I know I am still improving as a player too. Last weekend I made a few errors under the high ball but I know I can be better.
"I'll be doing my best to make the team happy every time I play."
Ravalawa has been criticised in the early stages of his career for both his handling errors and his defence, but has shown plenty of promise and carries the ball well out of his own end.

Dragons recruitment officer Ian Millward said the club were always looking at Ravalawa as a 'long-term Dragon'.
"We are rapt that Mika and his partner have shown faith in the Dragons as there was plenty of competition looking to secure his services," he said.
"Mika is very powerful and very strong, and someone who has made great in-roads in his training, performances and the way he's earned the respect of the playing squad and our staff.

"When we first signed him we knew we wanted him to be a long-term Dragon.
"As he continues to evolve as a player we're confident Mika will be one of the better Fijian players to have played numerous seasons in the NRL."
Ravalawa will line up on the wing for the Dragons on Saturday afternoon against the Titans.

**This might make Jason Saab even more interested in leaving the Dragons.**

If Capt Ego Smith decides he wants to lap up another year next year, Grant has a clause that allows him to sign with another club other than Storm. If that happens to be our club it is nowhere near poor form on WT's behalf: it's not like we have said we won't hold onto him regardless of what transpires. The ball is in Cammy's court.

No he doesn't.
Read the post above this one of yours a few pages back, it explains the situation clearly. If Smith plays on next year Harry Grant is free to sign where he pleases.
