We have some pretty good young forwards coming through. Twal, Mikele, Lilua x 2 as I think that BJ, given a full offseason under his belt, would make a great second row/ lock. Garner, Musgrave, McIntire, Seyfarth, Aloiai, the young boy from Parramatta . If we can get CHN from the dogs we have a very impressive engine room.

Some speedy backs would be good including a very very good goalkicker. Thoughts?

BJ to the back row - Joke of the century.

Why do some people on the Forum want to move our centres to the forwards?

i'm not suggesting you move BJ to the forwards but when you think about it backrowers these days are no different to inside centers in the old setup. the only difference is they don't move according to the play the ball. We are moving to a more NFL setup where centres and backrowers don't exist - you just have 2 x L and R wide receivers and a winger outside each. The next evolution may be that your 13 and 6 play either side of the ruck with the 7 as the major playmaker. I just came up with this after a few drinks - but who knows.

Next thing you know they will be wearing helmets and we'll take 4 hours to play one game.

CHN is the guy I would want, as for the Fox, if he came that’s great, but I would rather find a kid from within and use the dollars to chase a class no6 who kicks goals, or put the coin towards a deal for Harry if he became a free agent

Johnson would be a good pickup at the right price, as long as you had some other larger backs to start the sets. Nofo, Talau and JL can do the job.

the Tigers have made early inquiries about Elliott for 2021.

Lawrence or Chee Kam at centre? Surely not.

Well who knows - but when you think about it - the only difference would be your 6 moving in to a middle role - the 6 and 13 would be there for defence and attack - most 13s do it now - why not a 6 as well - then your 7 runs all the attack. calls all the plays. Hey i'm a 70's football player and follower and the game has evolved so much since then - maybe we should be the next innovators.

There is a reason he does not have a deal moving forward - he cannot defend.

Not sure where you got your info from but never heard his name came up from inside the club.

anyone on the radar for this year?

Nothing we have not already heard.

Doubtful CHN will get clearance this year but he will be back 2021. Very likely he will be here.

The JAC situation is very interesting and could really go to Souths, Dogs or Tigers. Reality around JAC is that Souths are his preferred destination but would be happy to come back to the Tigers or go to the dogs. Dogs offer is the biggest, Souths are his preferred and Tigers have the most preferable offer to Melbourne (not sure exactly what it is though). So it could go any of three ways... Dragons are interested but there is on interest on JACs end.

preferable offer for JAC from us got anything to do with Momirovski potentially staying in Melbourne permanently?

I guess that would be an option but I did read where Bellamy really respects Madge and seems happy to do a deal with Madge ahead of just releasing a player to anyone so just wait and see

If we were able to strike a deal with JAC through the storm though surely we would try and get a longer deal than he has with the storm now rather than have him for a year to help him get back to Sydney than see him run off to the wabbits

I really don't know if I want him. Johnston is still very quick and has no defensive issues, and will almost certainly cost us $300k less. also comes with zero baggage and has a great relationship with Madge. I know who I'd rather.

I'd be happy with AJ too

At least he knows he is not wanted at wabbits and would come with a point to prove

Wants to play fullback though or did in the past anyway

If he is happy to play wing without whinging than sign him up s he is a great winger just don't come here and cry you want to be fullback

JAC almost zero chance of getting a deal with the Tigers

Based on what exactly?

Looking at JAC & AJ they are both the same age both prolific try scorers JAC is strictly a winger AJ can also cover FB if required and would probably be a cheaper option which could provide more in the salary cap for a centre or running forward Elliott from the dogs would be a handy get.

Wouldn't say no to him, he busts his gut every week in a struggling team. That shows a great attitude. Would rather that than a 900k a year bloke who plays 3 good games a season. Would prefer CHN to Elliott though obviously.

Elliot would be a solid pickup. Tough forward who plays with aggression who can thrive under Madge like Aloiai has. Wouldn’t cost too much you would think and would be a good bench forward

CHN and Johnston for me would be great pick ups and at reasonable tariff.
No to Elliot ..... what we need is a tough forward leader. That’s a priority.
So we know McQueen, Taylor, Lawrence, Grant and possibly MCK, Seyfarth & Clark in the forwards and Jennings, Smith and Marshall in the backs are leaving.
Stefano signed and Momo returning going the other way. Simpkins, Madden and Hoffman possibly being promoted. If there is a reduction in NRL squad numbers to say 27 .... then that still leaves us with about 3 positions to fill.

Speed matters. Who is faster?

Elliot is a tough forward and he’s certainly the leader of the bulldogs pack... Aloiai and Twal quickly becoming leaders of our pack as well. He would be a relatively cheap bench forward who could have impact.

They’re both a lot faster than what we have

Bench forward? He’d be a starter here.

Would be close, he’s been playing lock but he can play prop too. If they keep Twal at lock Twal would start but they could move him to prop and put Elliot at lock. Either way our pack is a lot stronger

I read we aren’t interested in Johnston

I wonder what they plan on doing with Talau, keep him at wing where he’s killed it or move him to centre. To me he looks more like a winger than a centre. Could also depend on what happens with Mbye and who they sign etc

8. Aloiai
9. ?
10. Twal
11. Lucy
12. CHN
13. Elliot

Would be a pretty decent starting pack.
