JAC won’t solve our on field problems instantly but he’s a quality player and it would be our first big name signing in forever (can’t remember the last time we signed a current origin player) and it shows other big name players that we are a club you can come to.

He’s also a very hard worker and a great fella players love to play with. We still need to upgrade our halves but it would be great to see us actually picking up a top quality player

Souffs will wangle paying him 350k and finding a spot so he can go
and play with his mate Latrine. I think this will be LM all over again.

I'm certainly not getting my hopes up that we'll get him, things have a way of falling apart whenever a big name is linked to us. I'd be extremely surprised if Souths went for him though, there is no way they have the money and they already have too much invested in their backline.

Something interesting I heard today...JAC's new manager is allegedly organising his own third party deals, thereby possibly reducing any potential club's salary cap outlay. Novel way of making your player affordable for more clubs.
Also a novel way of getting him into a club seemingly close to their cap limit.

To fit into Souths Salary Cap I would assume?

But Justin Pascoe said we’re a destination club?

A graveyard IS a destination......

The new rules certainly favour the stronger teams and it’s been pretty obvious in the score lines and ladder

We had 6 set restarts to Roosters one, but they were all on the first or 2nd tackle. I thought the refs were supposed to be watching for this.

I’ve just spent the last hour catching up on this thread. Haha - the speculating has started early this year!
Every year we are linked to every player on (or not on) the market. Then we start assembling forward packs and back lines the likes of which are only ever contemplated down Bondi way. Then we wait for the signings...and wait ... and wait....
Then we sign Pita Godinet 😂

Can you Imagine being a Roosters fan
They don't need to sign anyone
How boring
What do those chookpen forum members do in the off season when they have no one to sign
I wouldn't give up coming 9th each year to be a Roosters fan
They would stand around for 6 months of the off season doing nothing but hanging out for the new season to start
At least us Tigers fans can look forward to and hope and Pray for new signings
Yeah when their footy stops we still keep on going
Hoping, searching and scouring the country for the one, our saviour
Who will it be this year
I look forward to 6 months of hope
Which Player is going to stand up and join our club

Na
Can't do it
When the regular season ends I will switch off
I need to stop wasting my time and try and preserve what ever sanity I have left

I’m still getting over the Godinet signing

We beat Melbourne and roosters with Godinet as our starting 9, lolohea at fullback and Rochow at second row. In fact we were 5-1. How Ivan managed that I’ll never know

We infringed and held down every play the ball at the time I called us the West’s Stiflers. Rules have changed talent is showing through average teams are no longer able to hang in there. Score lines and also the teams with the best rosters are all at the top. Cleary could coach he just had no morals.

On top of that, he instilled the most ridiculous defensive attitude. It didn't how many tackles were missed, so long as no try was scored. First contact was a lower priority. We racked up stupid penalty and missed tackle counts. Our middle was conceding record amounts of metres. It worked for 6 weeks, then our guys got tired and never really recovered.

It's like when you go into a room and you forget what you were supposed to do there or even why you're in that room.
That kind of destination?

There's only 2 of them anyway

Courtesy of the Mole.

“Wests Tigers have bombed out of the finals - and I'm hearing several senior players are fuming at the club's plans for 2021.

Coach Michael Maguire is looking at a cleanout, and wants to move several long-serving players on after six losses in their last eight games.
Kiwi international Russell Packer is on his hit-list, as is former Souths back-rower Chris McQueen, while Josh Reynolds' future is up in the air. There are also still question marks over what to do with veteran favourite son Benj Marshall, who is off contract but has a deal on the table.

The Tigers were well-placed for a finals run two months ago but have fallen to pieces, with morale at rock bottom.
Losing by a big margin to a depleted Roosters side on the weekend was the final straw and the Tigers are looking at mass changes.
The players have been their own worst enemies, forcing Maguire's hand.

The no-nonsense coach has seen he can't make the finals with this squad, let alone win a comp, and knows he needs to bring in some fresh blood to liven up the Tigers' ranks.”

I hope the comment of Benji having an offer on the table is not true.

So is a retirement village.

That's too funny - Packer McQueen and Reynolds "fuming". Just finished reading an article on JRey's new hobby developing 1Mil plus housing developments. He is enjoying it.

Boo hoo senior players are upset because they’re crap and Madge doesn’t want them. Maybe if they played better it wouldn’t be an issue - happy to get rid of all those players mentioned and Benji too. Pretty clear our squad needs mass changes, I’d even rather lose with a team full of young guys with potential than a team of guys about to retire

Surely we can't be entertaining Benji for another year. Don't get me wrong, been great for the club, brought in a generation of fans for the club, premiership winner, a once in a generation player, but the game has passed him by, it is time for him to land in a cushy FoxSports job.

Shows the crap losing mentality at the club when players are upset that Madge doesn’t want them because they suck

The sooner they’re gone the better. I don’t care if he upsets them we need to be ruthless and boot them and sign better players.

It just proves that Maguire is doing the right thing if he is ruffling feathers and kicking none performers out.I just hope our board completely support him and his plans. Not one of the players mentioned should be in our plans for the future
