We’re a better chance of resurrecting Dally Messenger and playing him fullback than that happening. Let’s get realistic.

We can't get rid of those players no matter how much we want too.

Pretty depressing isn't it - there is close to 1/3rd of the cap tied up in those 4.

We need someone who can complement Madge and I’ve heard his players love him, similar to Bennett.

Are you griffins manager ? Because the word on the street prior to him getting the sack at the riff , was that he was like a school teacher and constantly treated the players like children . There was a huge player revolt . He’s apparently a football savant though , with a great eye for the game .

That was Bee Sting Heads Narrative for punting him ..yes

Why is every one saying we have no cap space . We get back $ 360,000 from the nrl . Then we have Benji , McQueen , rowdy , Taylor and a couple of lower grade players of contract . I think that we would have about $1,600,000 in cap space , if any one knows any difference please correct me .

Reports from SMH were we had around a million. With Stefano joining, having to pay more for Doueihi and Joey and some other guys probably getting small increases 1 million makes sense.

Money will probably be used for a winger and fullback it seems. No good props worth spending big money on, hopefully we get someone like Bunty Afoa or Isaiah Papali’i who are solid and
Cheap.

This is the mentality the Tigers have to change or they may as well give up. Woods had to slave for years as a Lone Ranger. Until we have a big aggressive forward pack, I.e. more than just Aloiai up front, all our backs (especially Brooks) will continue to look average. The circus will roll on. If the Rorters were in this predicament that get a guy out of a bad contract at another club.

We desperately need a real elite Lock... fixes our pack up in a single move, well that and getting McIntyre and Blores gas tanks up to scratch so we can give Garner the rissole... We have forwards, we need a lock.

If Twal can get a little better with his passing he’s your man, does everything else an elite lock does.

Twal is a prop, a very good one, but he is a prop.

Jake T, Brown, Taumalol, Fischer-Harris, Murray, Asofa-Solomona.... if you cannot see what those guys bring that Twal doesnt, I dont know what to say....

I would put Twal against any prop in the world, no joke, no black orange and white glasses... guy is class. But a lock he isnt... We lose in the props, and do ourselves a disservice at lock thinking he is the answer...

Jake T is considered one of the best and Twal matches all his stats, like I said before he lacks the passing game. I don’t see why he’s not a lock he offers almost everything you want in that position.

Lacks passing...and leadership....and talking, directing, running the plays...

Twal is very one dimensional and passive IMO.

I’ve acknowledged his passing and that’s easily fixed during pre season. Madge many times has mentioned him as one of our leaders at the club, and locks don’t really direct and run plays? They’re very involved which Twal is

I have never seen Twal fire up...never once seen him bark orders or talk on the field...

He probably is a 'leader' in fitness drills, but so was Cory Thompson.

Some players lead with their actions. He does the tough stuff, doesn’t miss a tackle. I don’t think he should be captain but he’s definitely someone our players should look up to. Yelling on the field doesn’t mean anything if you can’t back it up.

I agree , blokes like Steve Price and Petro just did their jobs. Packer was hooting and a hollering at matterson but largely did nothing else.

Put him out for three weeks

We are all so sick of another rebuild year.
But next year is going to be much of the same.
We can only hope to see improvement in some of our young players.
If we can steal a Penrith or Broncos young gun even better.we need to persist with madge.end of next year will be much more exciting

Maybe young Stefano will be the messiah? Don't write off 2021 yet, keep the faith!

Poor bugger is going to be crucified on the forum if he doesn’t play like Jason Taumalolo In his first full season of first grade.

A lot of people are gonna be disappointed then, Stefano (surname spelling ??) Ukikamocow or something like that is unfortunately just a very large pillow with potential .. !!

Ofahengaue would be brilliant. won't be short on offers but would help our pack a heap. him and Aloiai starting and then Afoa and Stef on the bench for impact would improve us immensely.

He would be a disgraceful signing,he is suspended more than Packer, if we are looking at adding aggression & additude Keegan Hipgrave should be our priority. We should also look at Nesta Watene from the Knights he was the most talented from Brisbane Norths colts premiership in 2018 & outplayed Fifita in the Mal Meninga Cup final.

Hipgrave is the biggest myth in the NRL. Isn't that special when he plays and spends a lot of time suspended or injured.

I could be way off here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if ET gets signed for another year. We obviously need to fill spots, and I can’t see us going too crazy on the open market. Plus he’s been in the 17 the last couple weeks ahead of guys like Lawrence whose retiring. If both weren’t going to be at the club next year and with the season gone, you’d think Lawrence would get game time over ET considering his standing at the club.

ET's been tackling his ring off the past few weeks, everyone must have noticed how tight and effective his defence has been. Madge wants blokes who turn up every set and make their tackles, and he's one.

I'd even go as far as to argue that ET is a real beneficiary of the 6-again rule, because he's tactical about giving away penalties / slowing the ruck and you don't give away so much field position any more if you do that. Considering he's barely played this year, his fitness looked good. Put a lot of Roosters on their backs at LO last week.

Like Huth, I think he's under-rated generally speaking, and probably more the style of footballer that suits the Madge toughness and fitness goals.

joe ofahengue has been told by broncos he can leave. he is contracted for another three more years and even tho he is on $500,000 a year broncos would have to pay a little bit of that. for me that is a steal. Flegler is also of contract and would also be another decent signing. Also read that we are looking at signing james tamou. In my opinion he is a log and far past his best but at a good price a experienced forward would be exactly what we need. Thoughts?

Flegler yes, Joe O probably no. We have to think about all future recruitment in terms of Madge-style footballers. So I expect them to be tough, fit, good defenders before anything else.

Joe O goes missing despite his power game, that's part of the whole issue at Broncos. Too many flashy types and not enough blokes digging in in defence. Payne Haas arguably the best attacking weapon Broncos have but he's forced to make 50 tackles per week to cover his lazier team-mates.

The Broncos are preparing to clean out their roster, with utility Joe Ofahengaue one of the first names free to speak to rival NRL clubs.

The Tongan international is yet to win a game with Brisbane this season, with the club now looking to offload his $500,000-per-season contract.

According to 7 News, The Broncos forward has been closely monitored by St George Illawarra as a number of clubs begin to feed off the out-of-favour Brisbane

Ofahengaue remains contracted with the Broncos until 2023, but as the club look to open as much cap room for their incoming coach, they’re aiming to shed as much weight as soon as possible.

Would be an excellent pickup especially with Donkeys contributing to salary whilst he has a couple of things in his game that need to be sorted the season from he'll the Donkeys have endured wouldn't have helped. HUGE POTENTIAL

Hard to know for sure - but I would think he along with Gus set it up and he did the nurturing.

This may be old school and I know Larry was outstanding but watch the 5/8 in this long distance try. He makes it his role to get to the ball to make the last pass. His name is John Sparks former Aust Schools 5/8 he came to the Tigers the same year Jack came to the Magpies. Both were outstanding Wollongong juniors. It is the finesse in the age of. bash and barge that I get a huge boost from.

Wonder why we didn't make the offer to Gus .....hey Gus you can spend all your time operating out of Leichhardt if you want ...its your favourite ground ...you tell everyone every Sunday game at Leichhardt it is .......

I don’t understand how Jennings could be on $350, when at the time he signed he was without a club and very little options.

At Souths he was a leading try scorer.
24 tries in 34 games.

Which is a lot better then here where he has:
7 tries in 21 games.

From his Souths haul, $350k would be a very fair price for a player of his ability. Heck I vaguely remember him being touted as a winger of the year in 2018. The problem is we haven't seen the same at the Tigers. In part Jennings switching from Wing to Center plays into this.
