Well, I imagine the discussions with the Tigers would have been done by his manager, not the player. So, who knows what the manager told him the offer from the Tigers was? He may well be stating the truth as told to him by his manager.

And, lets face it, apart from Kent, Hooper, Rothfield, Ikin and the so-called "journos" of NRL, there is no bigger blight on the game than player managers.

Nothing wrong with Ikin, Kent, Hooper, Toovey and Benji on 360. The dribblers on 9 are getting money under false pretences.

Toovey and Benji have some credibilty through their on-field careers and achievements. I don't have issues with them.

It's the professional NRL-nuffie "journalists" such as Kent and Rothfield and Hooper, who seem more intent on wanting us to believe "I know better than the others", that I despise. With a passion. Add Michael Chammas and his cringeworthy support for Benji and ongoing bagging of WT to that list as well.

Collectivey, I see them as a scourge on the best interests and future of the game, in my opinion.

As for the Ch 9 mob .....? I haven't watched any of their NRL coverage or shows in about the last 5 years so I can't comment. No matter how keen I am for a footy fix, if Ch 9 is the only option, I go without. So I don't watch the GF or SOO. Couldn't care less.

Paul Kent was a footballer, only played one 1st grade game but he played. A lot of former players show him respect due to this.

Three Manly players to depart, report says
Three Sea Eagles are set to get shown the door.



Three Manly players have reportedly been told they won’t be at the club in 2021.

Danny Levi, Brendan Elliot and Tony Williams will all depart the Sea Eagles, according to AAP’s Scott Bailey.


“Manly also confirm Danny Levi, Brendan Elliot and Tony Williams won’t be re-signed by the club,” Bailey tweeted.



Levi has played 103 NRL games, spending five seasons at the Newcastle Knights before moving to Manly ahead of the 2020 season.

He made 20 appearances for the Sea Eagles this season.


Elliott has played 66 games, including stints for the Roosters, Knights and Titans, before joining the Sea Eagles in 2019. He made 26 appearances for Manly over two seasons.

Williams made his NRL debut in 2008 for Parramatta, having also played for Canterbury and Cronulla.

He played 73 of his 170 NRL games for Manly from 2009 to 2012, but did not make a first-grade appearance since his return to the club last year.

Wouldn't go anywhere near those 3.

Elliott might be a cheapie to cover our backline

Defence was our biggest problem, I guess Garner & Huth are considered tackle missers.

I would argue Huth was one of our best middle defenders all season.

I'm a fan but based on missed tackles to minutes played, he's the highest in the pack. I'm trying to understand a reason why we are letting him go, which I don't agree with

We actually have 28 players in the NRL squad for next season based on the following assumptions:
1) current development players, Bradley, Cini, Madden, Simpkin all move into the NRL squad, and Hoffman remains as a development player as does Kei.
(Note: not sure what the options are for club with dev players- Bradley and Cini may not be upgraded perhaps).
2) the players listed as going are the only ones leaving at this stage (eg Garner remains at WTs) and Seyfarth and Sam M are re-signed.
3) only Additions to squad are Momo, Stefano and Tamou at this point.

Could be right. Since we are finishing this season late, next season is not that far away and Covid will still probably be around.
Tough on guys under development contracts though as what would happen to them? Hopefully ISP will be on and they can move into those squads if their club doesn’t offer them NRL spots.
