There's too much mumble about Harry and Liddle in this thread. Let's be honest we're not going to sign Harry for 2021, he's going back to Melbourne. However Liddle is an excellent 9 so we're covered at that position along with Simpkin at back up.

If I was Madge/Pascoe I would try and sign Flanagan asap, he's a crafty half that would gel well with Brooks. Flanagan has a great kicking game and knows how to put runners in holes. When Brooks is allowed to scheme, take the line on and drop those deft grubbers we look unstoppable. Unlike Benji, Flanagan isn't selfish so I could see them making a great combination. Plus both their tackle efficiency is at over 88% so our defense wouldn't suffer.

We also need a reliable kicker. The amount of games we've lost in the last 10 years due to poor kicking is criminal. Flanagan is @81%, #5 in the league which is a big plus.

If the Rorters don't want him, it's their loss. We should chase him.

Don’t think so

Sure, but why though?

I don’t think with his inexperience he whould be a good fit , it’s
not like Brooks is an out and out champion player.
That’s not to say the kid will not turn out to be a very good player bit to early to judge him

Possibly, but I've seen better direction from Flanagan than I have from Brooks. Brooks needs to stand up and be a leader which I don't see in him.

Young Flanagan could be a good and reasonably cheap pickup especially if the Chooks have to cover part of the freight for next year. Not a great player as yet but he is young (22), seems to be a decent organiser and is a reliable goal kicker.

If he was going to be good, there would mot be this speculation of a move .

Honestly we should go after Mcquire critchen and jac we are instant top8 imo. Mcquire adds toughness, crichten a hard running back rower and jac speed.

Not true, the Rorters have abundant options so they can play with their roster.

We don't have that privilege.

At least he would be with Brooks who is experienced, 7/8 years in his first grade career, moving into the later stage of his career so Flanagan wouldnt be with someone equally inexperienced.

Flanagan would see out his contract if the Roosters believed him up to it. Walker is very young and another year's development would be the preferred option. Lam has not proven he is NRL standard. There is not an abundance of options yet the speculation surrounding a move is a very good indicator of what the Rooster's' think of his ability.

I think the opposite, singing Flano would give Brooks a chance to take on a true leadership role. Whilst he's not good with the gab he's great with footy IQ

It's time he steps up as a leader

Personally I would take a punt on him, our halves combination is currently non-existent

What would you do?

If we’re thinking about young halfbacks I’d much preferably target Matt Burton over Flanagan…

Was a Kyle Flanagan fan, however if he can’t do much with that Roosters team with strike power along the lines of Tedesco, Keary, Manu, Tupou and the Morris brothers with the pack they got also I bet he’d struggle with our current mob

However, If Foran goes to Manly, I doubt he plays 9 for long and if he does make that switch to 6 i would aggressively target Josh Schuter

Josh Schuter imo is a much much much better prospect than Flanagan and slightly better than Burton

Seen as jr isn’t going anywhere I would play him. The next half we sign should be for 2022. Other areas to strengthen first

Can’t see burton leaving panthers

if josh reynolds new lady friend is from woolygong, would saints new coach ,griffen,be interested in j r.?
The situation with both reynolds and packer couldnt be enjoyable for either of these fellows.

I agree but just don't think we have the funds until 2022 and that would be the deal breaker

I think before we would consider Flanagan I say give Brooks / AD a go in the halves. Brooks would not have Benji there to take control and this would be his shot at running the team. otherwise we give Madden a crack.

I like Burton but I like Flano much more. The problem with Matt is that he's a terrible defender @69% tackle efficiency, he also can't kick a peanut into a pond to save his life.

That's a no from me!

I like what I see from Brooks and Doueihi. We also have some very good young halves in the lower grades. I'd back our recruitment staff to have chosen the right players. We need to develop those we have.

I'm all about our juniors. The Panthers and Eels have showed how an inner-west club can grow and recruit talent. It's time we do that too.

Second semi is on now. Enjoy fellas!

We've had awesome juniors in the last ten years, but we couldn't keep any of them. If we can learn how to hold onto a few of them that word be good.
